I don't know much about the player and don't hate the signing but it seems like there are 5 versions of him in the draft that would've been way cheaper and younger.

You're not guaranteed guys in the draft. People have talked for years how the NFL does things backwards. Should have the draft first then teams can fill in holes AFTER.
Of course the players union will not go for that.
