McCaffrey
Kittle
Bosa
Ayiuk
Jennings
Greenlaw
Hufanga
Deebo

If a lot of these players return, I think we can beat anyone.

And this is why I think Brock signing a team friendly deal is so crucial. If he signs for too much and we lose a couple of these players are chances go down. Brock needs all of these players around him on both offense and defense to keep that window open.

Irrelevant players who can't stay healthy.

Also, some of those guys are legitimately horrible players.

Screenbo, for instance, is literally the worst wide receiver in football. He's the exception where a player is so bad that he actually hinders the offense.

You wouldn't line Marshawn Lynch up at receiver and think you have a great wide receiver, yet fans continue to pretend he's an asset. He's not. He's the worst player on the roster.

This is stuff you would see if you actually watched film and understood football. When you have a "wide receiver" who is incapable of beating man coverage unless it's a deep ball, and even then, he likely won't beat it, it hinders the offense. When Brock gets to him in the progression and he's not double covered, he either has to remind himself, "it's Screenbo, he sucks, next read," or he has to force it to him. Screenbo not only doesn't get open, but he doesn't even give you a tight window to try to fit it into. He lets the defender run the route for him.

Look at the interception in preseason against the Raiders. Screenbo is the first read on a slant. He can't get separation. Brock has no choice but to throw to him, since Kyle will chew him out if he doesn't.

As for the rest:

CMC: Running backs are interchangeable. He's a good extra player as a receiver, but he has absolutely nothing to do with Brock's success. Out of all the players on offense, he was the least important to Brock's success in 2023 (Screenbo was important in the sense that he hindered Brock). Fans saying otherwise are clueless. Rushing yards have nothing to do with the success of a QB. Teams don't bite on play action based on the quality of the running game. They bite based on whether or not they buy the fake. Crediting CMC for Brock's success is like crediting Brian Westbrook for Donovan McNabb's, or Ricky Watters for Steve Young's.

Kittle: Famous for injuries.

Bosa: Roided up shell of his former self since the contract. Injured all the time.

Aiyuk: Will never be the same player after the injury. He relies on his routes, and his change of direction won't be the same.

Jennings: Not durable enough to handle being a featured receiver.

Greenlaw: Injury prone.

Hufanga: Not a good football player. Freelancer who can't tackle.

There's no "Super Bowl window." The only things that matter in football are offensive scheme, defensive scheme, quarterback, and special teams.

The 49ers have a good enough offensive scheme to contend, despite Kyle's warts (stubborn idiocy vs. the blitz). The defensive scheme would be good enough with a better coordinator than Nick Sorensen. The special teams aren't good enough. The quarterback would definitely be good enough were it 2023 Brock. 2024 Brock is not good enough. He has to get back to 2023 level or you don't want him starting for you.

Go run a team and show us how it is done.

Agree.

I remember the eagles had theirs close last year. Well, here we are.

This. Just a term tv people started kicking around, as if they know anything. Furthermore the results of these playoffs show Brock has as good of a chance as anyone.
So what are we missing?
Do we assume part of the D-Struggle was Sorensen?
Do we assume part of the O-Struggle was the injurys?

Where do we stand?
If we have 6 Shots (3FA, 3 Premier Draft Players) where would you invest?
Is this team able to be in a mold with eagles, lions next season?

My 6 Shots would be:
Premier WR
Premier C
Premier RT
DT Run Stopper
Speedy Edge
Safety
(Resign Greenlaw)
