Why? A so-called "easy schedule" almost never means jacksquat. Teams are quite different from one year to the next and make some huge improvement or huge decline year-to-year. Look at Washington last year they were two years ahead of schedule. The teams we had for nearly 5 straight years minus 2020, is an exception not a rule. It's called a league of parity for a reason. Seeing a schedule doesn't automatically equate to 12 wins as if there's 8-10 gimmies on there. It's simply too high an expectation. If this team wins 10 games it'll be phenomenal, even with a supposed easy schedule.

to me parity is / has been a myth. brady went to 10 super bowls. jags and browns have been to 0. now mahomes goes to the AFC champ game and SB pretty much every season. lions never made it once. so where is that parity?

Those are exceptions to the rule. Most of the league is not perennially contending for championships like that. Getting the magic formula HC/QB combo is half the battle. That's what those Patriot and Chief teams were. Even this recent Chiefs team isn't really a dynasty. Maybe if they win 1 more SB but they've been to five SB's with that combo and have lost 2. And they were far worse than the SB losses this 49er regime had.

parity = myth

if the same QBs are winning every season or in the mix every season, that's not parity. i think the AFC for 15 years had a manning, brady or roethlisberger in the super bowl. no parity. dyansties and top qbs running the league that's the rule. someone like flacco winning, that's the exception.

chiefs aint a dynasty man? they won 3. they just played for a threepeat. the worst finish in mahomes career is AFC champ game loss. he's *a starter* in the league now 7 years and he's been in the AFC champ game all 7. he's 7 for 7. he's batting 1.000 on afc champ game appearances.

Not popular but I was hoping for an XMAS game. The rumor was against the Rams but both Rams games seem accounted for now and not XMAS week.
eager to see what week 2 is. maybe at browns?
pretty cool matchup here

No 9er XMAS. Oh well… Good games scheduled anyway.

I think the last time we played the Bears on MNF Aldon Smith had 5 sacks and Kap made his first career start
