Only to clueless fans.

The clueless fans are the ones who still consider Purdy top 10. No one else in the league thinks Purdy is top 10
They did last season, but that is what losing a bunch of weapons can do to perception.

If you need that many weapons to be a top 10 QB, then you really aren't a top 10 QB now, are you ?

They coud get lucky in the mid to late rounds but they may need to do something like what the Rams did. Find a talented QB stuck on a lousy team and make a trade.

A potential $20 million in saving is the advantage. Said differently, it could be as simple as do you want purdy or do you want darnold and greenlaw

Bingo. That's exactly what Krueger / Bruce speculated on. Assuming that in both scenarios, you're still searching for a long term viable QB through the draft, do you sign Brock to a more lucrative deal surrounded with less talent, or do you go with Darnold with a less lucrative deal and more talent.

If we're still searching for our franchise QB, then I'd rather take my chance with a cheaper Darnold surrounded by a more talented group of guys. Maybe you try to revert back to the JimmyG era where the defense carries us and you just need a game manager. I don't think this "offensive juggernaut" led by Purdy is going to work…

Why would Darnold accept a low ball deal.? If the Niners traded for him and made him their starter he would want big money too.

Darnold is not going to ask or get 60+ million a year. His ceiling is 40 million max. No one is taking a chance on a career bust that has one good season…

How many good seasons has Purdy had?

so why is sam taking 25m and brock 60m? that's a silly premise.

we will see how their deals come in this summer. i'll go on the books now that brock is not > 2x sam.

also we already punted on sam when we told him goodbye and picked brock over him. so the die is cast so to speak. it would be beyond weird to punt brock for sam. why not just bring jimmy back while we are at it? go for maximum awkward. trey lance also, he's a FA. these are fantasyland scenarios.

This. End silly thread. Lol

Brock is playing with an injury he has no business playing with.

What's Stat Paddy's excuse?

6.7 yards per attempt (26th). 10.0 yards per completion (28th). Air yards per completion (32nd). Air yards per attempt (32nd). 14.3 bad throw % (18th). 21st in on target percent.

Sam Darnold stats against the Bears 24/40 231yards 1TD 1Int
Brocks stats against the Bears 20/35 325yards 2TD's

I guess Sam is out Brock outplayed him against the Bears.
Like I said earlier, unless Justin Jefferson is coming with him, I'm out on Darnold. He's going to get paid huge bucks to go play someplace where he doesn't have a guy open like a 7-11 and he'll start looking more like Carolina Sam Darnold again but at $40+ mil a year.

A) Sam Darnold + Dre Greenlaw + Ward

or

B) Brock Purdy

I like option A better.

Ward doesn't seem to be in their future plans anyways, with Lenoir and Green moving forward, and Brock's deal wouldn't start being expensive for a few years, so signing Greenlaw will have nothing to do with Brock's deal.

Those 2 have no effect on a Purdy contract..
I know Darnold has been looking great but he is playing with a better constructed team for him and with all our problems currently if we threw him in there we'd want to throw him out immediately after and wish we'd have kept Purdy
