I understand some concerns with Purdy...but Darnold who failed in so many places before and has had one good year, is not it.

I'd take Brock 100 times out of 100 times over Darnold.

Justin Jefferson kind of made him in the regular season and as soon as oppositions stopped Jefferson, Darnold was kinda null and void.
So we hope Purdy is going to be in the elite category.
With the contract he's going to command, he better become elite. He's not always going to have the best RB and TE in the game. He's not always going to have a good receiving corp. And he's not going to have all his players healthy all the time. Oh, and he has to play in the rain and snow sometimes. With all of that said, I'd expect my 60+ million dollar player to play like a top 5 quarterback. And no, if he sucks it up like Lawrence or Prescott, that's not an excuse to justify his salary like some will do…

Oh man, only 11 of those 24 pressures happened within 2.5 seconds of the snap.

The question is would you take 60 million dollar Brock over 35 million dollar Darnold, IF getting Darnold meant you keep more of your core together for longer AND you keep fishing for a franchise quarterback ?
Or do you put all your eggs in Brock's basket and expect that even after losing some key guys eg Greenlaw, Ward he is good enough to get us a Super Bowl…

plus why would anyone want Darnold for 35 or even cheaper when Darnold can't win with Jefferson, Atty, Hock, jones and a decent OL ?
lol

With Brock you're in Super Bowl contention. With Sam, you're lucky if you win one playoff game.

Yes so true
Purdy is just another game manager anyway.
Without "Elite" help, Purdy can't get it done himsellf. We saw that this season.

He wad elite in 2023.
With 3 of his 4 best offensive teammates, he led the team to a top 4 offense.

Opinion's on Brock aside, we were the 4th best team in offensive yardage. If you think we were a top five offense this season, you're nuts.

imagine if we didn't have back ups and guys off the street playing on both sides of the ball.. we def could be number 1

Yea at full health and with Brock rolling, we could be the best offense in the NFL, like we were last season. That was a pretty special situation though, and that's not factoring for adjustments DC's are going to make.
Either way, we were a middle of the pack offense that really liked to turn the ball over this season.

Yep, I was referring to Total Offense, the scoring ranking was lower. They were also 4th in yards through the air and 3rd in YPC.
Not too shabby, all things considered.

We still had wide open guys running around this season, so the plays are still there some of them were made as we were still able to put up numbers
If we sure up the OL and get Purdy confidence back up.. we will be back and deep in the playoffs
