Kap got us to a Superbowl too and look how he turned out? You don't pay someone based on past performance.
Plus, it wasn't even Purdy who got us there. It was the elite offense and defense around him that got us there.
Many other QB's like Garappolo could have done the same thing which actually Garappolo did the year prior.

Yup. Time to shut it down for highest strap position possible and pray to God that they go get an offensive or defensive tackle that pans out!

Lolol Brock had nothing to do with getting us to an SB. The people around him? You just listen to pathetic talking points that have no validity whatsoever or even common sense. You bought into that whole thing too? Comparing to Kap, meh. Brock doesn't seem to get lost in the sauce like Kap did, one might disagree with this season though. Mentally, I like Brock better, physically, I might choose Kap. But football is mostly mental. As Steve Young also says, it's mostly mental.
Kap sealed his own fate with the choices he made-- ironically, the NFL seems to embrace now the exact s**t they basically sent him into exile for. But I digress. Kap wasn't really a leader like Brock either. I mean go back and think, who was the leader or perceived as the leader on that team at the time? Probably Gore, Willis..but definitely not Kap. Brock has set himself apart from many.
And has earned praise from the greats, present and past. They might know a thing or two about football.

With the way our DC, and special Teams coaches prep the team we just have to let things run their course. And with Kyle not running with Brock his offensive problems will be worse.
Im not optimistic about Lynchs early picks either, we will all wish for a RT, but he will draft another WR, or kicker.

Uh no, I'm against tanking, Brock is just fine as the QB of the present & future, I don't think we get a top 3 seed, more likely the 4 seed or 7 seed, but don't count out this team when they get their guys fully healthy, so no, I wouldn't tank for anyone, cause no one is a GTD stud or franchise player, would I love a Travis Hunter? Sure, but I want to win more than getting Hunter, and I don't want to go with another dual threat QB, I like Sanders, but I prefer Brock, has the arm, strength, vision, smarts, can make just about any throw, not sure why we're questioning him as the QB, no guarantee Sanders turns into anything, plus Brock can run when needed, I'd rather not draft a QB that excels at running on designed plays, like we did with Lance, that turned out terrible, so no thanks.

Wait, Brock didn't get us to the NFC Title game, or SB, the elite weapons & defense did, yet you're saying Jimmy did? Jimmy wishes he was Brock, Garoppolo doesn't have the patience in the pocket that Brock has, why are we turning on Brock all of a sudden?
And the whole you don't pay on past performance, uh yes you do, why else would QBs be getting these ridiculous deals, WRs, RBs, TEs, IOL, etc.... It's not the draft when you sign a player to a deal, you don't give out $100M deals to rookies, that's not a thing anymore, never really was anyway, most of that money back before the slotting was phony money.

Nope, any Joe Schmoe can be a qb and get paid lots of money, no experience/past performance needed lol. Lol like saying you go in for a job with no resume. Hey, we wanna pay you for this top position but we don't pay you based on experience/past performance. Lol.

The team is 5-5 and in contention for the playoffs. You'll have a point when they aren't.
How is this team in contention for the playoffs. You may find some nonsense X account that tells you the 49ers have a 29% chance to make the playoffs….it's actually 12%. Because they hold ZERO tie breakers with anyone. Not Seattle, not AZ, not LA, Not Washington, not Minnesota. I agree with OP.
This s**t is over. They aren't in contention. Maybe Kyle can find a math guy around that place who will let him know they need a 7-0/6-1 finish to make it. That's what they will need.

Tanking on a roster filled with this many veteran core players will break the locker room.

Bout to he 5-6. Haven't beat a single team with a winning record ALL YEAR. This isn't a playoff team right now. I'd rest the starters. Shanny will probably ride CMC until he breaks, but I hope not.
