This is Amazing. SmokeyJoe I got a feeling you are one of those Professor emeritus type people.
Now you know why it was like some kind of weird victory when you got stumped on one of mine long time ago.
This is entertaining guys. I never thought the topic would be hopping like it is, smack dab in the middle of 49er joy and pain and the Super Bowl and (I can't wait for) Draft Day!
Y'all are the BEST!

This dude is a machine

Yep. Almost like we need to invent a handicap system for this savant.

I want to put one out there and leave it for half a day while I have it in my mind.

One was first while the other last.
One was left while the other right.
One was not very old while the other was not his senior.

Name those Niners.

Wow! You doing the Double-Dutch here!
Looks good man. I'll be working on it throughout this day.

Thanks Iso. It was one that a few of your earlier ones inspired me. When I saw it I had to put it out there.

Too easy to be Steve Young and Brock Purdy but i'll throw it out there anyway

Answer #2
Harris Barton/Kwame Harris

You were so close and so much on track. Well done.

Jerry Rice - first in receptions, 1st HOF WR for us. He has a son who is a Jr.
Terrell Owens- our last HOF receiver, I think he goes by Sr in some references.

left and right is how they lined up when they played together.

What an awesome thought process. Probably deserves to be called a WINNER even though it wasn't the answer in had in mind.

I hope you stick around for more of these mitpdub.
It began one year, 1060, with a rebellious Scot in a big sky country following a comet. Carried by wagon along with a pick pocket pied piper, a fiery carpenters son of Elias, Lassie, some grass seed and tools for cutting the cloth, they emerged from the forest at the farmyard allotted to the commander. Irate more than once they sought bright fame and took turns on an original flight to a pacific island to play catch 22 with a ball listed as lost. More than satisfied, William was torn. And a legend was born.

Name that Niner year and 5 players who are referenced in this riddle. (SmokeyJoe must name them all)

I think it has something to do with the Encke comet.
Am I way way off?

I did not even know of that comet.
I am hoping with that with the eastern time advantage we can find a winner before Smokey the bear takes a stab at it.
As you have alluded to, the starting players of that year have a reference in that riddle.
I have decided that if Smokey takes a shot his handicap will be deciphering every player's reference in the riddle.
Everyone else will need to name 5 references.
Fair?

Hmmm. I suppose.
But I don't mind at all SmokeyJoe right away answering or knowing the answer.
It's so intriguing. Furthermore, I would LOVE to hear from him HOW he deduced the answer.
Lately I've been watching old episodes of Columbo. For me it is totally engaging how he solves those murders.
On this one KRO, I don't think I'm getting any closer to the answer unfortunately.
