So, Cowling has been ruled out because of his hamstring. That's been going on all year. Doesn't bode well for his future with the team that he hasn't been really available to play since he was drafted. I'm surprised they didn't bring Valdez up. Apparently, he's earned their practice squad player of the week award a couple of times this season. Given how bad their pass rush has been you'd figure they might want to give him a look. Go Niners!!

As I see it, they were just doing future roster management. They don't want to add Cowing to the 53 since they would have to cut Watkins, but they did want to see him practice for a bit. They don't want to waive Watkins for fear of losing him. So sounds like they want to hold onto both for the 2026 season.

Has long as they have held onto Cowing his ceiling must be the atmosphere.

Man, so many incorrect and just plain bad takes in here. Cowing was never going to be active for this game. Kyle said as much the second they opened his practice window. Nothing has changed.

Notice that Kyle didn't list Cowing with any limitation today. I expect him to play this week. Get some speed on that field!
