What is it with people wanting to cut the whole roster on this forum?

Guerendo showed some good things his rookie year because they was a crazy amount of injuries at RB last season. This season CMC and Robinson were both healthy so Guerendo didn't see any snaps.

He's still under contract for two more seasons with very low Cap hits of $1.25M in 2026 and $1.36M.

If Aiyuk managed to get out of the doghouse in his second season I don't see why Guerendo couldn't do the same.

0 snaps....that's the way coach says I don't trust you. Even in losses, blowouts....0 snaps. He's not digging his way out of this.

Sadly this is accurate. No reason to hold onto dead weight that Shanny has 0 trust in. Use the spot for somebody else.
Another RB bust drafted by Shannahan. He sure does draft a .lot of RB busts

Joe Williams: Drafted in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He never played a regular-season snap for the 49ers. BUST

Elijah Mitchell: Selected in the sixth round (194th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He set the 49ers' franchise record for rushing yards by a rookie in his first season. He was the best RB drafted by him, but he was injured his second year and then was replaced fully by CMC.

Trey Sermon: Chosen in the third round (88th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft, making him the highest-drafted running back of the Shanahan era at the time. He was waived by the team after one season. BUST

Tyrion Davis-Price: Drafted in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. BUST

Isaac Guerendo: Selected in the fourth round (129th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. Never played a snap after his rookie year BUST

Jordan James: Selected in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Cant even make the active roster BUST

The whole cut him thing is a weird power trip to me. It serves no benefit to the team. No one is losing a roster spot because Isaac Guerendo has a spot. There is the chance that he can grow. He is a high traits guys and was going to be a project.

I figured they are looking for Raheem Mostert like homeruns. Mostert wasnt always that guy. It took some years. Its worth the investment if they can get that production out of him.

Raheem played special teams for years before getting a shot....they didn't even do that with Guerendo....
Did not Guerrendo average 5YPC or something and so did Mason? What were we thinking?

Why draft speed and explosiveness when you're going to continue to trot out old McCaffrey, Juice, Bourne, DRob, Kittle, etc? It's baffling.

At his presser today Shanahan had really positive things to say about James and expected him to contribute next year. I don't think his story is written yet, and he certainly can't be considered a bust at this point. Mitchell was a pretty good back. He just couldn't stay healthy. Isaac has to prove he can hold onto the ball but showed some ability in the touches he had last year.

Well explain that to other people here but I guess they must be Madden addicts or something. I tried and they just don't get it even if you spell it out to them.

The fact that you label the last two as busts when they are first year and second year players really shows your lack of knowledge.

Also in my book a bust is a player that doesn't pan out taken in the first round, maybe early 2nd round. Calling guys taken in the 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th round as busts is.... Pretty ignorant...

Unless you believe that players taken in those rounds should all become hall of famers?

Dude is straight speed, didn't really show a whole lot of vision or elusiveness last year. Though they started to get better later in the season the OL wasn't creating holes. CMC was fighting for his life to pick up 4 yards. I just don't see Guerendo doing much better
Liked what I saw last season, hope he can have a trajectory like Mostert during his time here .

Nobody going to run the OZ like Raheem. But hopefully he can improve ball security this off-season and get in the rotation.

If anyone can run it like Mostert it's IG. Mostert also rode the pine for many years here before getting a shot. But yea ball security needs to be a priority for him and PB

It's the typical Shanny's tactics.. you get in his dog house for whatever reason, and he'll just keep you frozen until he remembers to just let you go..
