Aiyuk has a dead-cap of $29 million.

They'll most likely designate him as a post-June 1 cut, which will allow them to spread that dead-cap hit out over two seasons.

Don't be surprised if the 49ers try to get the entire contract voided.

I'm very curious about this. Would love to see the contract. Generally, even if not written, contracts incorporate a requirement of good faith effort to perform. Could be interesting to see this unfold.
2025 stats

0 TD's all season long.

Playoff game (1 played)

0 catches, 0 yards, 0 TD's. 2 targets. 1 almost catch falling to the ground.

Ladd McConkey and Cooper DeJean were available at that pick. Picked AFTER we picked Pearsall.

Mcconkey was the obvious pick from anyone who actually watched the games at that spot. No use crying over spilled milk at this point though.

I remember the zone had the same innate ability to see talent when a bunch of us were clamoring for Allen Robinson years back and we didn't pick him either...

Your implication is totally out of context.

Remember, split-end, the place BA usually ran, the guy who can get quick separation, is the key piece in the passing game. Without it, the entire offense suffers. So, with the question still very much in mind, they picked a guy who could do what BA did in case he couldn't play again. AT THE TIME, that was the correct call. (Emphasis on the timing.) The thinking was correct. Injuries derailed it.
Just hope that PCL heals in time for next season.

It is cool to assert that McConkey was the obvious pick, however that would not have been so obvious had Pearsall stayed healthy.
Sorry I don't believe in this dude being more than WR 3 from what I seen so far and inconsistency, we need Justin Jefferson

Would love Jefferson. But when healthy, Ricky is at least a solid WR2. Did people just magically forget the games he played in this season?

Maybe, he good when healthy but not wr 1 good , he at his peak is a number 2 I guess, we still need a WR 1

Oh yeah McConkey was soooooooooooo amazing last week against the Patriots.
Pearsall's end of the season has been killed by that hip drop tackle against the Titans which by the way wasn't even sanctionned by the f**king refs.
Pearsall when healthy is awesome. He can win against zone or man coverage, he's a really good route runner, he has great hands.
I mean he's the best pure WR on the team and it's not even close.
Now people will insult him all offseason because of his injuries. Just know that he had the same injury CMC had last season and how did it end for Christian?

Fans are fickle aren't they? Lol.

Hopefully he's healthy and productive next season. He looked like a good player when he was actually available. We still need help at the position. Dumpster diving in free agency can't be the only answer.

He scored ZERO TD's all year long and zero catches or TD's in the playoffs too. McConkey doesn't have a problem finding the endzone. Check the stats. Pearsall doesn't even know where the endzone is.

You just going to keep repeating yourself? Dumb question, of course you are.

Have you not read ANY of the reports of his injury and why he wasn't playing?
