My problem with all this is he was already an old player. Out of his last two years, he ended up already missing like a full year worth of games. He will be 26 to start next season. By the time he fully breaks out and gets a full year of work, he could be 27 or 28 and now Niners either have to pay an older player for future years that might not be his prime anymore or let him go.

He already broke out. He was 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards before his injury behind JSN and Nacua.

I wouldn't say he fully broke out (just broke), but comparing what he's done this season to Drake Jackson getting 3 coverage sacks is pretty silly. It was evident that those sacks at the time weren't anything special, whereas Pearsall was basically the only WR on the team consistently performing before his injury.

If you can't figure out the difference between 3 cleanup sacks and then a lot of nothing close to consistency and what Pearsall did to end last season and start this one then that's a you problem.

You made a post acting like the guy hasn't shown he's a good WR already and that's wrong.

The injury took him off the field but he was consistently getting open and making big plays. Breaking out doesn't require someone to be an all pro.
