I hope he is healthy and has a better year. The terrible shooting was not his fault. So a mulligan on that year. I feel WR wasn't our biggest need though. That's what upsets me about the pick. Also McConkey was there 3 picks later in the 2nd round. He seems to already be on his way to being a star. So it's early and some tragedy involved. But you can question this pick multiple ways. Position and even if you wanted that position was he the right guy?

Pearsall = Ed McCaffrey, Jordy Nelson, Adam Thielen, or Cooper Kupp?

How about Wes Welker, Julian Edleman and Whitey "Cracker" Whiteson.

If healthy and plays well he's Adam Thielen. The height, weight and speed are similar. They are both known for great routes and excellent hands. Hard to put him there now. But he's that style of player.

JT was an All-Pro PUNT RETURNER. All 80's team PUNT RETURNER.
Torry Holt WAS a #1 Wr, just on a team with all time great WR.

need to read thoroughly..
John Taylor was named to the All-Pro team twice during his NFL career. Both of his All-Pro selections were with the San Francisco 49ers. He was named as a second-team All-Pro in 1989...
.. HOLT - was never a ONE, you may have seen him that way but he was never a ONE.. I even included much talented McCaffrey being an ALL PRO, but he was not a ONE.. you can have the BEST season of your life as a WR and be an ALL PRO but doesn't mean you're a ONE..

Think he's saying John Taylor was elected an all pro punt returner not a WR. Tory Holt has been a HOF finalist let alone a #1
Dude had 8 1000+ yard season in a row

Torry Holt #26 ALL TIME in receptions, #17 in yards,
6 pro bowls, OPoY, 2 AP (tm1 and tm2) while playing at the same time as Marvin harrison, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Isaac Bruce(same team) Reggie Wayne.
Torry Holt would start on any current team and be THE GUY except on the Vikings and Bengals.
Mark clayton was a part of the passing revolution in football, and this was THE YEAR they were the greatest offense of all time, and he had 18 TDs (which was the record and is still the 3rd highest all time). so yes a really good WR can have an all time great season and make the all pro team
Ed McCaffrey is the exception, but it also was not a great Career year, just a league down year, with no business getting it.

Or Cordarrelle Patterson having four 1st team all pros and two 2nd team all pros in his metrics 6x all pro 😂 knowing 9 moon he'd say both of them are better than Pearsall

Every time I see conversations about historic WRs it makes me think of how alien Jerry is. As a rookie with just 4 starts he had 953 yards and had a "terrible" year, the next year averaged 1 TD a game, then the next year he averaged 1.8 TDs per year. At the time it blew my mind, and it blows my mind now.
Then there is the fact that at the "end" of his career when he blew out his knee TWICE in his mid 30s and his career was supposed to be over, then he came back and had stats that are not far from the Hall of Fame career of Lynn Swann.
Dude was a monster.

the argument is that YOU HAVE TO BE " ONE " IF YOU'RE AN ALL PRO.. and I said that you DON'T need to be a ONE, to be an ALL PRO..
