Who will be the Niners new DC?-Rooney Rule Now Applicable

I just read that the top two might be Jeff Ulbrich or Gus Bradley. They are both currently DC's so we'd have to give them a assistant Head Coach position so its not a lateral move. Ulbrich played for us for several years also coached the LBs in Atl while kyle was there, also coached under Pete in seattle and Was Salahs DC.

Always been a fan of former LBs as DCs. They understand the importance of run and pass, while also be responsible for being a coach on the field.

Been of a fan of Ulbrich as well, one thing you could never questions is his energy and toughness, you know he will bring the same mindset here.

I just don't get why if we can poach someone's DC, why not just go get Jim Schwartz? Heck go get Spags while we're at it!

You can't justpoach a coach if it's a lateral move. The team can block it. Maybe the Niners and Jets are working on some sort of compensation in order to get Ulbrich.

Honestly I think Pete the cheat is the most logical choice, other than age. Has ties here, knows the system, probably would like some revenge on the Seahags. just alot of dots that line up for him.

I was thinking that too, Pete makes too much sense but with the more time that passes I feel that Bill Bellicheat is interviewing current staff to figure out who needs to be replaced or just interviewing who he needs. What makes me believe this is a previous interview of Kyle saying he would fire his current staff to hire someone like Bill Bellichick.
Ulbrich I like.....

But Vrabel would be real cool as well. I want Chiefs' kryptonite in our building....

You know the coach would still have to want to leave? Both of them in good positions.

Brick is also from the Bay and runs the same defense with the Jets.

Because those teams won't give us permission to poach Schwartz or Spags.

Jets just might.

Not that hard of a concept to grasp

but then maiocco will have news once he lands in Indy for the combine?

Pretty sure Maiocco doesn't have anything.

If he did, it would be news already.

seriously? I never seen a team quite on a man like the Chargers did against the raiders. Keep that mofo away.

You do know he wont be the head coach right?

Dude has a very entitled personality. DC/OC or whatever other coaching positions you still got to know how to lead and earn respect.

Yup, dude has the cooties. Stay away!

That's the head coaching record for the DC that just beat us in the SB.

So yeah, as a head coach... I'm with you.

But this is the DC position we're talking about.

How do we know Ulbrich or another candidate wouldn't fail as a head coach too?

We don't.

He has one season as a DC. Spags was already a very good DC before the Rams job.

I have no idea where Ulbrich came from? Isn't he a jet?

Everything is chance of course, but just like players have medical flags Staley has big fat red flag as a coach. I didn't see any of the other newly hired HC running to get him as their DC either..... There are many other candidates they can take a chance on without the baggage.

My source says it will be announced sometime between now and the start of the season. He's been dead on from previous reports. Like he called we would either trade Trey Lance or keep him. He also said we were either going to pay Deebo or trade him same with Nick Bosa. Dudes never wrong

I commend the front office for keeping a tight lip. We hate it as fans since we want to know what's going on, but not having any real information come out is a good sign.

Assistant HC doesn't count as a promotion.
