It's kind of laughable how many fans here are so confident in this matchup. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, a good running game, and a secondary that's really good. Furthermore, they crushed the 49ers last season. This game is about as close to a pick'em as you can get.

I wouldn't say it's laughable. People will always have blind faith in their team. Especially those where sports is their lives and I don't fault them for it. I do agree it will be hard for the 49ers to win especially with how they have looked the last two weeks. People really seem to be ignoring Mahomes in all of this too. Mahomes trumps all of Green Bay's and Detroit offenses come post season. Those regular season numbers are irrelevant.

This. It's like when people were betting on Brady despite if they played a better team and alot of times Brady ended up winning.

"A lot of times" and I can only think of 2 or 3 times in super bowls
2001 Rams, 2014 Seahawks (debatable), and 2020 Chiefs, Brady also lost 3 super bowls where his team was the favorite

Finally catching up to all the media content and wow…so many talking heads and TikTok "analysts" just picking the Chiefs with ease…some even suggesting we get blown out.

Am I missing something? I get the chiefs are on a bit of a roll but they haven't been blowing anyone out lately. Didn't they also barely win the last two games?

I mean I agree with it all. It's hard to be confident given how we've been playing for an extended period of time.

Chiefs have significant advantages at QB, HC, and DC with a suffocating D.

We all know the niners are capable. We're the more talented team top to bottom but we haven't played well for a while now. If they somehow clean up all the self inflicted issues and play the way they should, the niners will have a very good chance to win. But we haven't seen that in a long time this year.
Let's talk turnover differential.
chiefs -11 their defense forced 8 ints all season. Chiefs d ranked 27th in turnovers
niners +11 and our defense forced 22 ints
I get that the chiefs d is very solid, but they don't generate a ton of turnovers. I also understand that mahomes is an absolute stud, but he does throw ints (14 compared to purdys 11). Hearing the media and joe public narrative it's brock is gonna throw picks and fold, and I can't wait for him to make a lot of people look stupid.

Mahomes has 0 ints in his last 4 games and 0 TWP. Purdy has 5 ints in his last 4 games and has had a few others hit defenders hands and get dropped. The narratives are all about what has happened in the last few games, not over the course of the season.

Lol. Is two or 3 not a lot with Superbowls? How many have we won in the last two decades?

lol just saying I can't take the whole "i CaNt bEt aGAinSt _____ " argument serious whenever a team goes up against a stronger opponent (on paper). it's something I'd expect in barbershops. I remember when everyone said the same thing about Aaron Rodgers, until his teams choked in the playoffs every year throughout a decade

idk maybe I'm the idiot for trying to put logic into these football games

I think what most people mean is you know with Mahomes they always have a chance. I think every niner fans understands and respects that. We can beat them but it takes your best shot.

But Green Bay and Detroit put up better numbers than Mahomes in this post season. And people aren't ignoring Mahomes, where are you getting that nonsense, people are picking the Chiefs BECAUSE of Mahomes.
