Kyle, do NOT make the same mistake. Do whatever it takes to win. If that means more yards for CMC than Purdy, so be it. Let the media be toxic all offseason about us somehow needing a new QB. We won't care. We'll have our Lombardi Trophy AND have fun laughing at the media's nonsense. Win-win.

I think Kyle already had his Lamar moment when he tried to make Brock look all world against Baltimore and it backfired. I'm sure he's learned his lesson, and hopefully will win this game on the team's strengths. Break down that dline with the run then hit them with the play action.

If he makes the mistake of trying to make Purdy outduel Mahomes, we will get crushed. Run the damn ball !

That's not the media fault. That's the Ravems coaches for being idiots if they were trying to prove the media wrong instead of winning the game.

I was born in 1987. I was an infant and toddler for 2 super bowls, so of course I do not remember those. When we won in 94/95 I was only 7 years old, so I remember it vaguely and my mentality was like "of course we win, the Niners always win no other teams exist". So yeah, I remember it, sort of, but I didn't appreciate it or the gravity of the moment. I thought that we still had both Montana and Young playing quarterback at the same time, I didn't know anything.

When I was around 9 years old is when I became a fully conscious football fan. Just in time for Brett Favre to rip my heart out 3 straight years in a row. I always hated Dallas, of course, but only because I was supposed to as a Niner fan. It was Green Bay that truly haunted my childhood. I remember vividly crying and sobbing after the 97 NFCCG, cursing Favre while my Raider fan dad laughed at me. Tough times.

Back then I assumed eventually we would be back, since we are a great historic franchise and all, but I didn't anticipate almost a decade of suckage in the 2000s. It got so bad during those years, where I loosely followed my cousin's chargers as a secondary team because Niner football brought no joy. At least watching LT was entertaining at that time. It wasn't until around 2007/2008 when we drafted Willlis and we had Gore emerging that things started to look hopeful. And then the Harbaugh years came and we all know that history of heartbreaking losses, biggest being that SB against the Ravens. Going into that one, I was super confident because at that time we had that mystique of being undefeated in SBs. Well when we lost that one, let's just say I still have PTSD from that. I also have PTSD from the loss the following year against seattle. I still seethe at the mere mention of that team or that city, which is funny because I lived there a few years.,

Fast forward to 4 years ago. We are back in the SB, but only to lose to the new media crowned GOAT mahomes. Now this got me feeling like this is what the bengal fans of the 1981 must've felt like, being the stepping stone to the start of someone else's dynasty. Now we are back in the big game, and it's the same team. The buck has to stop here. I'm tired of feeling like s**t after every season. I want to experience what the older generation of Niner fans experienced, at least once in my life. I need this championship.

We are the same person almost lol. I have always followed the team and watched every game no matter how bad we were but it was hard to watch some years.

I remembered the Championship game a lot more against the Cowboys for whatever reason. I loved Merton Hanks, Ken Norton, and Deion, and always wanted to do their celebrations as a kid. I remember getting excited, but I wasn't as emotionally invested as a was a year later.

My favorite player back then was Garrison Hearst. Loved his physical running style, I would pretend I was him running through my stuffed animals lol

That is a cute story about the stuffed animals . Lol loved Hearst, I legit cried when he got injured, it was terrible.

I became a 9er fan at age 10 or 11. My grade school teacher at the time was a Niner fan too. Instead of a crappy apple as a gift, I got him a 49ers hat. He was very pleased. He wore it all the time. Guess I kinda became teacher's pet after that haha. We won against the Bengals in the SB that year and he couldn't be more proud to wear that hat after that lol. I felt like such a cool kid lol

Before every game in college, our head trainer would play '70's rock while taping everyone up. Hated it at first lol, but by my senior year I was really superstitious about hearing it before games. This was the first song of the mix tape. Definitely playing this before the game on Sunday.

First, Spag and the Chiefs cannot stop the entire Niners offense. Nor will Reid be continuously gaining chunks on the Niners defense. The Niners offense is etched in sustaining long drives running and throwing the ball. Our offensive weapons cannot be stopped at all times. Someone is going to get loose. And once the offense is running through the Chiefs defense and they don't know where to go, good night Irene. The Niners defense knows what is at hand and will play accordingly. Niners win by two touchdowns easy
Go 49ers!
Lots of players and coaches legacies are on the line Sunday, Gonna need Legacy saving games like LBJ game 6 against Boston type of games from them.
Who besides the Chiefs are playing in the Super Bowl? My god. That's all the coverage is. Every channel. Why bother playing the game. Just crown their ass.

Ive thought the same thing. I felt that way when we lost to Baltimore because the entire narrative around that game was the winning QB would be MVP. Really felt like Kyle and Brock were playing against Lamar, rather than the 49ers playing the Ravens.
27-7 niners win. had a dream last night and it will happen.

I also had a dream a while ago where the score was 27-20. Niners make a late field goal up 24-20 to close it out in the 4th

How can the Chiefs keep this close? Looks like Niners blowout.
It's kind of laughable how many fans here are so confident in this matchup. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, a good running game, and a secondary that's really good. Furthermore, they crushed the 49ers last season. This game is about as close to a pick'em as you can get.

Chiefs are the overwhelming favorite (everyone knows their strengths, few weaknesses).
If the 49ers of the first 5 games of the season played the Chiefs, most likely the 49ers win.
Since then , the 49ers defense fell off and the offense was mostly carrying the team, not all the time, mostly.

Everything depends on the 49ers defense. They play well, very well, up to their talent level, we win.
Else, same old heartbreak of which I'm tired of.

Mahomes is not unbeatable like the media makes him out to be. We are in the best position to win this year and have an all-star team. Mahomes takes up 17% of KCs cap, while Brock is less than 0.5. It's unfair how loaded we are and if the Niners play to their ability and to their assignments, we win by 7+.

I'm sick of hearing about the Chiefs. 80% of NFL network, 74% at ESPN, including Berman who's typically a Niners homer, are on the chiefs. None of that matters! Like most of you I've watched every game since Brock became the starter. Don't get me wrong, I'm nervous as hell. But, we will win this game. This is our time! Go Niners!
