something tells me this wouldn't fly with EddieD. He fired a SB winning head coach for not bringing more titles to SF. I guess times haves changed…

He can't afford a house and a car on $900k/yr?

He rewards them for getting rid of Trey Lance.

Does this help us take our next step as a franchise? Putting together best-in-class personnel, front office, and football ops?
I kinda see the same franchise we were last year, the year before, the year before that.
- eat a cardboard sandwich contract negotiation style;
- temperamental, erratic drafting;
- revolving door senior assistants;
the main difference is Purdy. he is compensating for so much right now.
Are we encouraging the necessary core changes we need to contend year in year out, with a big bonus and extension for these guys?
Looks to me like we are rewarding throwing away three firsts for an ex linebacker with no experience.
I dunno. Rather take the money and upgrade our draft infrastructure and informational tools. hire a jerry West type big picture consultant with an impeccable winning pedigree. Bring in some dudes from the All-Blacks to help build the kind of internal culture that produces Celtics or Canadien style dominance. They did it at barca.
Still havent won a super bowl yet, though its looking good so far.
Definitely not giving shanalynch their due here.
Just obsessing about getting over the hump.
You serve the cheesecake after the main meal.

Have you seen this team? It's stacked. Top tier talent at RB, WR, TE, LT, EDGE, LB, S. As in, arguably the best in the league at their respective positions, all on one squad. That doesn't happen by accident--these guys are doing something right.
Now, can they deliver? Odds are better than if, say, they hadn't put together a dominant roster

I for one love it. But I am an unsavory character, and can not be trusted.
But what do you think?
