That is not really relevant, IMHO. But since you brought it up, I would say you are expecting unreasonable hindsight regarding Trey's injury history. Had things gone according to plan, he'd already have more than an entire season's worth of reps.

None of this changes the fact that pass protection has been god awful, and the plays in which Lance has been sacked, I'd say at least half were long developing.

It's preseason.

Well in year 3, he's still playing like a rookie

Agreed. Again, getting better isn't promised… and he needs lots of PT to make it a possibility IMO.

  • Low self esteem
  • Not enough reps
  • still young
  • Kyle isn't trying hard enough to coach him
  • pro bowl linemen not playing against raiders scrubs

Did we miss anything from the WZ bag of excuses ?

They know these pre-season games will be the highlight of their season.
I'm most worried about the defense getting shredded. They're not even close on many of these plays along with so many broken tackles. No bueno.

Right. Raiders acting like it's their superbowl.

-Moody was hardly missing anything

-Kinlaw was finally better

-Mason was catching the ball better

-Womack has been good in coverage all camp

I haven't seen a single thing in this game so far to support any of this. Tf were they watching?

Tf are you watching? That was F level pass protection, which is bound to screw up a QB, especially one learning on the fly. My guess is the All 22 film will show only grade A, excellent QBing would have led to success on most of these plays.

Yes or no: did he throw better? Not read defenses better. Throw better. Yes or no.

No I mean that's definitely an issue too. PP was awful. There were some instances where there really wasn't anything he could do. But, other times, Trey had open guys and I was super confused with what he was doing half the time even when he did have time to throw.

I am sure he'd look much better with all our starters, but I'd like to see him handle the pressure a little better when it seems like there was still an opportunity to make a play.

Looking forward to a more in depth analysis which will show that abysmal pass protection can affect a QB, especially one learning on the fly.

Who is learning on the fly?

How many 11v11 reps did Trey get last week. Don't you need to play in the offense to learn the offense?

How many reps did Purdy have before he came into the Miami game?
lol at the announcers trying to make it sound like the Raiders are taking the game more seriously. That has nothing to do with why our d-line is getting destroyed on every play.
get Austin Bryant a bigger jersey

The guy who has thrown less than 600 passes his entire life. Why do you have self-esteem?

It's year 3, this isn't on the fly lol

Book learning will not teach you how to see a defense.

Again, I'm looking forward to the All 22. But even without it, your false expectations are embarrassing. The most anyone should have expected based on that pass protection and the reps that Trey has had ever is maybe a couple more plays made than what we had. I'm quite confident the All 22 will show that.

What's embarrassing is your narrative that it's everybody else's fault. A top pick in year 3 should dominate backups, he's not close to that.

Those sacks were coming in under three seconds. The pressure was coming in under 2 or less. On LONG DEVELOPING PLAYS at least half the time. That isn't on the QB.

Four years worth of them in college and the entire season after week 2 against the 1st team defense.
