Ji'Ayir "Tig" Brown-S-Penn State, 3rd round 2023 Draft

Can we trade this guy for a future pick or a player swap for someone else who needs a fresh start

Regarding phone calls, some people are framing it as a "personal phone call." But was it a personal phone call if Brown was telling Whitner--a media member--not to criticize him publicly? Is that off the record? I'm not so sure. Obviously it pissed Whitner off, so Brown probably wasn't asking, "what can I do to improve my game?"

I agree. I think Brown is an idiot but for Whitner to put Brown on blast like that is lame. Whitner is still living off one hit and couldn't cover back in his day either (couldn't cover a bed). It does show you where Brown's state of mind is at which is a little scary. Get better bro please!

You can think that if you want but the issue was him telling Whitner not to criticize him which is directly related to his podcasting and which has nothing directly to do with him being a former player. It's completely about him being in the media.

And to say that Sherm doesn't need the clicks it's also possible that he approached Sherm differently than he did Whitner.

This recent info makes Whitner look even worse. Brown specifically said he didn't want to have their conversation talked about. Whatever you think of his play, that should be a request another man should honor. Especially when he comes from that world.

And if we're being real Donte can run his mouth all he wants but fact is he was the 8th overall pick. He made 2 pro bowls in his career in years 7 and 9 in his NFL career(neither with the team that drafted him) there is a good case for him being considered a bust so he should chill a bit in acting like he's Ronnie Lott or something.

I agree with your overall comment.

However, there is a problem for the player who tries to balance his privacy with the media pull on him to help them do their job. The player does not want to develop a reputation for being uncooperative for fear of the writer using that as an excuse to give the player less, or negative, coverage for their lack of cooperation. It seems like it all backfired for Brown.

I disagree, being criticized is apart of being payed millions. Whitner may of been the 8th overall pick but he wasn't playing ass while claiming to be the best either. I do think private conversations should be kept private but it depends on how Brown approached it. If he was trying to check Whitner and Sherm with no good point or film to back it up wtf you think is going to happen?

Didn't care for him before and really don't care for him now. Biggest issue is he thinks his play is up to snuff

Brown doesn't seem very adept at learning lessons. He's a mediocre safety and whitner is 100% right in that assessment. Hopefully morris can get something out of brown but id be shocked

There is a difference between asking someone to not criticize you and trying to check them for doing it. Brown did the latter and got the appropriate response.
