I like the move. Will probably be called up 3 times this year. Good depth guy. I honestly like keeping him for next year too and its clear he is purely a run stopping DE.

Could he be moved to the active roster? I assume he's on PS for now because there's no room on the active roster as of yet. Maybe Y G-M will get put to IR and they move Ferrell to the regular squad.

They'll probably elevate him until they can't then put him on the 53. IMO

White shouldn't be a depth player. He was damn good last yr and clearly wasn't a scheme fit for the new coaching staff in NE.

I get this sentiment but it doesn't always mean you have to have sacks for the defense to get off the field. Right now this defense can't produce any pressure and they just can't get off the field on 3rd down, even when it's 3rd and long. Hopefully these moves will at least help in getting the defense off the field even if it's just a couple drives a game.

Agreed. Knows the scheme, fits the culture, and should be better than your typical ps guy.
Gipson could pass rush but got his arm pinned multiple times by the same move, blowing contain. Couldn't set the edge.
We don't need Ferrell to be a star, just solid.
