He can be cut after the season anyway. Over paid for a player who was old. We can spend his money on a different old DT who cant perform anymore.

True. But there are expectations and baseline comparisons base on performance. Sometimes we really over pay.

What this proves to me is that most of the time a player will play his best before he gets that big money contract after that they just drift away in the tide. Teams THE 49ers NEED TO LEARN FROM THIS.

Never smart to give a big contract to a d lineman at his age. They paid him to do/be something he's not. I like the signing but not how they used him.

Maybe he doesn't fit into the Niners scheme. Maybe the eagles had better talent around him. In any case a suspect D line just got weaker.
