Im confused. why let a dc out of contract ... so they can be a dc?

Because it was a dick move to force him to stay under contract even though he signed up to work under Hackett and not Payton. Generally when a new coach takes over, the staff either gets let go or are given the option to stay and not forced to do so, apparently he wanted to pursue other opportunities.

why not work for payton? oh well. Peyton is a gregg williams guy. d*k.

I'm sure he had his reasons. Maybe it was an aversion to working for a guy with a mouth like a guppy.

Coach too busy scribbling down orbit motion ideas
Still think if Morris is out in LA, he ends up in SF.

why does everyone like Wilks? someone want to fill me in? am I missing something?

Totally turned around a Panthers team that was left for dead. Did some good things with the players he had on defense. He'd have far better players to work with and a true team defense. Worth a conversation just to even talk about that turnaround- what did he do, what did he change to get that turnaround. He's also never had the chance for any kind of continuity- never had back to back seasons running the same D, He'd have a shot at that here.

Bonus is he is a guy that has head coaching potential and can earn us comp picks. He can leave right around the time Saleh get's fired and comes home.

Please no but I can see it since he's close with Kyle
Damn I wanted the denver guy, two more thirds when he becomes a head coach. And he is headed in that direction

I wanted him because Denver defense played pretty well despite their offense being horses**t.

Has his contract expired?
Kocurek - fantastic D Line coach - should have been promoted to DC when Saleh left- continuity of in-house hire with #1 NFL Defense

He didn't want to be DC.

Even though he said he didn't want to be one?

Amazing how incentives open up opportunities.
