) logical people who love their team and the game. Definitely the matchup I was dreading as an Eagles fan but love as a football fan. Two fantastic teams going for the right to rep the NFC. Should be a close game.
My concerns as an Eagles fan mostly come from the ability of the 49ers to run the ball and eat up clock in long sustained drives. Not too worried about the big play, but the 7-8 minute drives that keep the Eagles offense off the field. Hurts is also not at 100%, and Lane Johnson, who hasn't allowed a sack in 2 years, is playing on a torn groin. Also missing Maddox, arguably one of the best slot corners in the league. Combine that with a poised young 49ers QB who isn't asked to do too much and who protects the ball, it could be a long day for me.
My hope is that the Eagles are able to plug up the middle more than the past now that they are both healthy on the Dline and they added both Suh and Joseph in the middle of the season. The Eagles can make some big plays with their WRs but can also pound the ball with probably the best Oline in the league, even against good rushing D (see the Titans). However, this is all recognizing that this is the toughest run D they'll see all year.
Ultimately I think the game may hinge on turnovers, as most close games do. Either way, should be a great game.
