Our offense appears to have "blue balls" as one pundit put it. In the spirit of "finishing the job", I cannot help but wonder if what would help us "put a little stroke" back in the O is not necessarily tied solely to who is under center, but who that person is handing off, consistently, the ball to. Hence, why last year, Deebo, helped us "get 'er done" because, quite frankly, he became RB1. But this year, everybody and their mama is expecting that. Jeff Wilson is serviceable, but has a history of failing to finish leading to "oopsie moments" that cause turnovers. Everyone else toting the rock is questionable, young, or hurt. I am going to avoid turning this into we need CMC, and instead, let those far smarter than me explain if he or somebody else, can un...ehm...(censored) the offense, which as a byproduct helps Jimmy, the YAC bros, and the defense, which is nursing many a wound. Deebo Samuel right now is our starting RB...
Shanahan runs CMC to the ground every other year. Literally has him running the ball up two scores against multiple bottom feeder teams at the end of the game

Funny that nobody ever seemed concerned about OJ or Jim Brown carrying the ball too much. Having a player that is a threat and not using him is silly. That's why they get paid. If they had a better, healthy backup then they would probably use CMC less but they don't.

No reason to bring up names from that far back. All you got to do is look at today's running backs that are elite and how they get used. I made a post about it a few months ago showing that there were five other teams with a backup running backs had less carries than our backups last year. Off the top of my head it was Robinson, Taylor, Henry, and a couple more.

Pretty sure that's CMC himself, the one thing he gets mad about is not being on the field and I wouldn't be surprised if he went as far as to talk to Kyle directly about it. Also dude works hard in the offseason to the point where his dad Ed McCaffery warned him he's going to hurt himself and he ended up with double Achilles tendinitis

CMC for example 19m aav is a joke. you got mediocre receivers making that amount. pacheco signed for the lions, *checks amount*, $1.8 mil guy runs hard as bleep. if they were gonna draft i liked emmett johnson, but let's see what this black does but he has to get on the field first

That's why signing Deebo back makes a lot of sense, in my opinion. Among all the RB's behind CMC, Deebo is most likely the one who will take most of ball carrying duties especially gadget plays and short yardage passes, etc. This with the hope that Deebo still has IT.
