Assuming this is true, this is what happens when you fail to draft a single impact player at positions where your aging stars play. Why wouldn't CMC and Bosa hold out? The Niners have nobody behind them capable of remotely replacing their production. They know the team badly needs them, and the organization has given them all the leverage in the world.

You can't continually rely on aging stars while doing nothing to develop or draft their eventual replacements and then act surprised when those players recognize how valuable they are to you. The number of picks this regime has wasted is f**king insane.

yessir, or if you can't draft, i would sign a FA. seems we are hitting our head on the same wall over and over in the draft at RB. i view RBs as pretty cheap. CMC for example 19m aav is a joke. you got mediocre receivers making that amount. pacheco signed for the lions, *checks amount*, $1.8 mil guy runs hard as bleep. if they were gonna draft i liked emmett johnson, but let's see what this black does but he has to get on the field first

Can we finally fire Lynch now?

Can we stop pretending Lynch is responsible for picking players, especially on offense?

The guy who picked most of them just left to go oversee some soccer teams.

Come on man; you really think it's Paraag who picks/drafts the players?

You'd be crazy to think he didn't have a hand in our drafts. He controlled the analytics department and all of the data fed to the coaches and personnel people.

It's also well known that Kyle wanted to draft Mac Jones in 2021, but Paraag "Rasputin" Marathe got Jed to veto it.

I think you have a point, but if every player in the league used their leverage, half of the starting QBs would be demanding pay bumps every year. Our players seem especially greedy. I'd expect that from Bosa, his kind is known for having bottomless greed, but CMC seemed to have more competitive fire than that.

I don't know, couldn't you say the same thing for all the #1 backs on teams aspiring to go to the SB > D Henry, C Brown, K Walker, O Hampton, J Cook. None of them are 'holding in' . All had contracts signed before Gibbs & Robinson and are just as valuable. I'm beginning to think it's an arrogance thing.
If only we had some 3rd round draft picks to draft some RBs in the past.

i don't think he's even holding in, i think it's august and he got 400+ touches last year so it's gonna look like a whole lot of vet maintenance til the real ball starts

This is what I thought but if he doesn't have any guaranteed $ coming off a 2k season it's not far fetched he wants to rework his contract
