Well that didn't take long.

JLC saying cmc wasnt available to media after practice, ugh

Christian McCaffrey showed up on the #49ers practice report as a limited participant in practice due to a calf condition. The ball carrier looked like his normal self during the open portion of practice.

Makes you wonder why it says open portion and now he was unavailable after? Not good signs
Was CMC practicing at all at this time last year when we kept hearing "well he might play he might play… out nvm out for half the season"? Trying to find the bright side here…

It says that bc that's the part that they saw and he looked fine. Something happened after.

Can someone who has Instagram tell me how recently this was posted? I need even the tiniest good news right now…

30 minutes ago. I think its precautionary imo

Thursday practices (2nd practice) are usually padded leading up to a game. So that's from today he looks perfectly fine to me.

Any chance it's just gamesmanship against Seattle?

Nobody knows but apparently it's much more fun to freak out.
.

Once again, normally I would say everyone is overreacting (especially because he DID practice, at least) but the fact that it's his calf AGAIN is really bad news. Like only a ligament tear would be worse. His calf being hurt at the same exact time last season is what started this whole cycle, and the fact that its calf again now says that this is a much bigger issue that simply isn't going away.

Again, I hope you're right and it's no big deal and we're all laughing on Sunday evening after watching him play in a win. But just that fact that its "calf condition" being listed on the report is a legitimate reason to sound the alarm bells.

I don't know if it's a big deal or not, but it is always possible that Kyle is playing some gamesmanship here. I'm just not going to freak out over something we don't really know anything about just yet.

Listing a player on a practice injury report is not gamesmanship, they get in big trouble if they make stuff up
Not surprising really. The guy's days as a player are numbered..so much for the German witch doctor. Too fing bad because he is the best ..was the best rb in the league. His legs could be falling off and he would say, "feels great, everything is good, ready to go." Lol. Reality, dude retires before long...plays golf up in Tahoe. ⛳

When is "mid-late 20s"? 27?

The list of RBs who made all-pro after they turned 27 is LONG.
Getting the feeling that CMC is damaged goods at this point. Basically on the downward spiral. Unfortunate because at his peak he is an amazing talent and someone we really need on this team.

Maybe we can wait for the first game then discuss..if an issue.

Lol couldn't even make it to the first snap without feeling completely deflated
What are the chances of this guy making it through the entire year? Based on this start and his prior injury history. I would be super impressed if he makes it until game 6. Who knows even he even starts game 1 now. What a mess.

I like Lombardi but you're actually spot on with that lol. He's doing a livestream and says basically chill out and slow your roll on CMC.
