Our offense appears to have "blue balls" as one pundit put it. In the spirit of "finishing the job", I cannot help but wonder if what would help us "put a little stroke" back in the O is not necessarily tied solely to who is under center, but who that person is handing off, consistently, the ball to. Hence, why last year, Deebo, helped us "get 'er done" because, quite frankly, he became RB1. But this year, everybody and their mama is expecting that. Jeff Wilson is serviceable, but has a history of failing to finish leading to "oopsie moments" that cause turnovers. Everyone else toting the rock is questionable, young, or hurt. I am going to avoid turning this into we need CMC, and instead, let those far smarter than me explain if he or somebody else, can un...ehm...(censored) the offense, which as a byproduct helps Jimmy, the YAC bros, and the defense, which is nursing many a wound. May not get peak CMC again for no reason of his own. RB production is incredibly team dependent.

not sure i follow. you suggest SF will hold back the player? this is a guy who was on bad carolina teams. he's now with maybe the best run game playcaller in football, and a line built to run the ball.

Kyle said he needs to hold CMC back, but more than that I was saying his insane level of production from when the 49ers first got him may not be replicated because OL changes, WR changes, orther RB changes, TE changes, scheme changes, use changes, opposing defense changes.

I expect him to be a great player, I don't expect him to match his 49ers peak because it was so high.

I like Lombardi and his reports. But he's such a cheerleader. LOL. Sometimes you need to be objective in reporting too. His reports are interesting and good information. But just take it for what it is.

They are reporting that he looks healthy, not that he's poised to get 1,200 yards, there's a difference
