Banks has played better than Burfurd this preseason especially in pass blocking
You don't understand, they redshirted him so he is terrible for life!

Or when he meant 4 teams tried to claim him, it includes teams thought about claiming him but end up not claiming him?
If you put in a claim for a player, you go to the back of the line, regardless of record.
A lot of teams put in claims on players today.
The Bears are basically trying to build their roster off of waiver claims.
Maybe they're going to change the team name to the Waivers so they don't offend animal lovers.

Eh… I think Burford's run blocking is much better than Banks.

and watch him being back to the PS soon because nobody will claim him
Since he's a third round pick, I'd say he for sure is getting claimed
Your draft slot means nothing if you suck. Your backfield must be horrific if you're claiming Trey Sermon.
Of course your draft slot means a lot bc you are very talented. Plus he's only been in the nfl for 1 year and that's why teams with good grades on him will actually use context in judging him. Could be the wrong system or needs more time to develop.
I do think a lot of players, if they are in the right system, will have a much better chance at making the 53 - if they are fortunate enough to land on a team that matches his talents. Sermon may be better on teams with slower developing run plays that block man more than zone. This is a sideways one cut and go system. By the 3rd step - see the hole, hit the hole. Sermon just wasn't seeing anything in this system.

Just looking at the practice squad, Blake is better than Poe and Sutherland - according to ShanaLynch. I guess he adds depth, since I think Poe played well in preseason. I think there is a good chance that Poe will be elevated to the 53 towards the end of the season, as he (hopefully) continues to grow and develop. Poe might just supplant Blake at that point.

Best case scenario
MM stays healthy
2 of Banks, Burford, Brendal hold up
Brunskill and Hance fill in as needed.
Moore, Mckivitz improve without being needed
Poe forces his way onto 53

I don't think all of those can exist together. I feel like the last two are mutually exclusive (but I'd put Banks in the hopper too).

Banks is actually really smart player. When you watch him he does a good job of switching and knowing his blocking assignment. He just struggles with anchoring. I think that can be fixed though.

Can continue to be fixed by getting more fat off that body and more muscle lol

Maybe he fills in at RT if MM and Brunskill aren't ready to go and McKivitz s**ts the bed

He played there last year at Cleveland but didn't fare well as a pass protector.

I like this pickup, is capable of playing all 5 positions on the line. Started 8 games last year, 1 at LG, 1 at LT, and 6 at RT. Also played a few preseasons games last year at C. Finished 2022 preseason with an overall pff grade of 83.6. Seems to be a better run blocker than pass blocker, but his versatility is the key.

In a time of need, this pickup is pretty solid to me as well
