I don't think it's a horrible comparison. As long as it's followed by without the turnovers. I would say Brock has a stronger arm and is more mobile but for the most part I can see the comparison in terms of style.

It's a horrible comparison. Mullens ABSOLUTELY looked like a "system QB." Nothing special about his game whatsoever. Purdy's style, athleticism, footwork, arm angles, leadership, etc. are all far beyond anything Mullens ever touched. The ONLY argument one can make to compare Mullens to Purdy is stats; which of course lack the context that I'm describing. I really wonder if some people are even watching the games.
I saw nothing in Cosell's comments that I didn't agree with. He still has limitations but he's an improvement over JG because of the things Cosell pointed out.

He also brought up that nothing Purdy can do will change the fact Trey is faster and has a better arm. Not that means he will end up better. But you want the big arm fast QB if all else are equal.

In theory, yes. But when does this happen, exactly? It's like fans are constantly chasing some mythical idea of what a QB "should" be. I just don't get it.

remember Furlow, one must give him 9 years of starting every game before coming to any judgement.. see you in 2032 where we will be able to discuss the subject further
How is all else equal? LOL. Would it kill you guys to actually watch the games?

Lol right. We definitely shouldn't be excited about an electric QB, the likes we haven't had since Steve Young. Must remain calm and compare him to Nick Mullens so that we don't get hyped up.

Exactly. There is literally never a time where "all else is equal." Each QB has different pluses and minuses. Each QB/coach situation is unique. You do the best with the situation that you have until you have a legitimate opportunity to improve the situation. Crying and hoping for the mythical QB to be a Niner, and always finding fault with whoever is starting, is loser mentality.

Yup and if people actually listened to everything with an objective POV then they would agree.

Whaa...you mean you have to look at more than just W/L record to evaluate a QB?!?

I thought he was spot on about Jimmy and he basically gave an incomplete to both Trey and Brock - which also makes all the sense. Brock did back pedal and run to left when feeling a little pressure. On Trey - there is not much to say - and as he said - biggest thing with him will be - can he read what's happening in front of him quickly.

Not sure what the uproar is all about. It was pretty much all on point.

It's never equal and reading the field, making good decisions, having excellent mechanics, throwing an accurate ball are most important. Brock Purdy does all of those and more super well.

Yup just calling a spade a spade.

Devaluing someone with the résumé of Greg Cosell calling him a clown because he doesn't like what he said is about as ignorant as it gets in here.

his posts ooze of being butt hurt and screen grabbing comments without any substance is in fact p***y s**t.
