Just like with Joe. Just conjecture from ex players who aren't in the know.

Never want an injury, but the 49ers are really in an ideal situation if you have to be in a situation that both your young QBs have to battle back from major injuries.

They should drive each other to be better, and they are not going though this alone. With both of them coming back from being under the knife it should not be Lance vs Brock...they are in the same trench so to speak.

Having said that....damn..... could we not ask for better personalities? Both of these young men are just A++.

There are so many grade 1 jack asses in the league, and QBs go super diva as much as anyone, and we get two skilled guys that have absolute great personalities.

We got lucky...simple as that...

I know teams interview and send out private investigators and all that....but still, I don't think teams get enough time to really suss out what they are being told compared to what they are seeing (acting or real). I think luck still plays into that.

Unfortunately those types seem to be the ones winning rings now.

Brittany only thinks she won the Superbowl
Vernon doesn't know anything about QB. But Montana and Steve Young do. They both say the same thing.

Purdy.

100%

Two class acts - really happy to have both of them on the team. Can't wait to see how things unfold and how they push each other and themselves. Couldn't be happier about our QB room.

They both even share a similar faith.

Yes absolutely. He gives us the best chance to win.

He throws touchdowns and wins games.

I even heard Jeff Garcia was all about Purdy too.

Yeah of course. All the QB's know. Just watch the games. He reads the field like Montana. He sees everything and makes the right decision. You don't go away from that. We are blessed and lucky to have him. Teams missed on him. People get obsessed by his draft position. But he was mis drafted IMO. If you did it over he would go much, much higher. Maybe even 1st round. He has excellent mechanics, throws an accurate ball, reads the field super well, goes through all his progressions really fast and makes the right decision. It's all you could want.

Those are all good attributes but you can't say it's all you could want. What about a stronger arm to be able to make a wider variety of throws? What about a little more speed to be able to break an occasional run? Those may not be the most important things but they sure would be nice to have. If he did then we might have our own Mahomes except we would have never even drafted him. If he had the strong arm and mobility he would have been a 1st round pick.

Montana, Young and Brees had no stronger of an arm than what Brock Purdy has. About in that category. He does a lot of what they did. Read the field well, go through reads and progressions, make the right decision, have good mechanics and throw an accurate ball. He has enough athletic ability to get outside the pocket and buy time to extend plays and make the throws. He can get you 10 yards and a 1st down. He has enough there. He's not Lamar Jackson and nobody expects him to be that. You don't really need that either. The 70 yard throws happen 1 time a season even for a guy like Herbert. It hits all the highlight reels. But it doesn't happen 16 of 17 games even for the Chargers. It's somewhat overrated and unnecessary. It is a pretty looking highlight throw though. What you need is 90% between the ears. Brock Purdy has it there and it's the most important part.

Hope the injury doesn't affect him/his career long term. That would suck.

In a recent ESPN piece in which they re-drafted the 2022 draft, Purdy was selected 4th overall!
