I'm not exhaling until it's reported that he had the surgery, it went well, and no reconstruction/Tommy John was needed.

Although with the Tommy John they could reconstruct it with a horse's ligament then Brock would have a missile for an arm

Since we got so many interpretation specialists on here, what should we think of this?

If that's the case then next year is done. It's written off. At least we have our high 2024 picks I believe. Because it will be pretty high. How can we get a young QB this good and get this unlucky?

What a quack. He hasn't examined Purdy's arm or seen the MRIs. What a load of BS

You do know that having TJ is still on the table right? Certainly not a load of BS

Would it be better in the long run to do the full TJ surgery? It's not like his arm isn't going to get hit again as he's throwing in the near future.

I haven't really heard or seen much of TJ for QBs, but I know in baseball the success rate is good compared to in the past and pitchers say their arms are stronger. If the same happened for Brock then this could be a good thing for him in the long run. I just don't want to see him rush things and do the easiest fix to get him back on the field as quickly as possible, I want what's best for him and his health. We know all too well of these types of quick fix surgeries that only end up requiring another surgery and it would've been "quicker" to get things right the first time even if the prognosis is a longer recovery.

That's why tweets are generally BS. Listen to the linked conversation, and go dig out the background of the conversation.

It came out of speculation that the FO would go after Brady or another vet to be the starter for a year or two until said vet hangs 'em up for good. You have been around here all week. You've read all the comments about bringing in Brady in case Purdy needed TJ. That convo would not have set well with players.

Lol I saw a tweet that said a conspiracy theory that Brock got paid to lose. So stupid. I don't go on Twitter a whole bunch. Plus a lots of a*****e attitudes on there

JL said earlier today that Purdy is still getting opinions from various doctors.

He also said there have been multiple scans since the original diagnosis.

Yeah, it does take time to set up appointments doesn't it, it's only been 4 days.

Sometimes certainly things have to happen to the body before a surgery can be performed, not right after the injury.

For one thing, the swelling has to subside so the surgeon can get to the part that needs repair without a bunch of tissue in the way.
me not worried... Nick Mullens had the same repair w/brace surgery and he came out fine

The way Purdy talked about getting opinions from others doctors, I get the feeling he wanted to see if he could find a way to avoid the 6 months absence. He made it clear he wanted to play in 2023. He said that´s the only thing that matters to him, being ready for week one.
Sure hope he doesn't rush it if it's not the best for him.
The repair and not the full reconstruction might be the best for him. The doctor in that youtube video said using the same tissue is always better. Pitchers get TJ because their UCL tissue gets degraded damaged/scarred with years of throwing fast balls. So the best for brock might also be the best for the team. The way Kyle was hoping it was the 6 month recovery, sounds to me he is QB1 in his eyes.
