I could see them look at taking one in the draft if there isn't a veteran they like.

He has a completely torn UCL, he's going under the knife. If he had a partially torn UCL he would probably need 4-6 months for recovery. Having surgery is the only way to repair a complete tear. So 6 months is probably the least amount of time needed for recovery plus another 4-6 weeks to ramp up to be in game shape. If they have to do reconstructive surgery which would probably be at least 1yr.

We'll probably carry 3 QBs again next year and sign some vet that's been a fringe starter at the worst. Brock/Trey will still be QB1/2.

If it's TJ surgery, you can kiss his 2023 season good-bye and here comes Brady.

Even in the best case scenario, 6 months is only recovery, he's not going to just jump in and be throwing like he did before the injury, its going to be another few months at least which pushes it into October.

Yup. This

He needs to take whatever time it takes

Not the worst thing in the world to see what Trey has got. We know from experience that Brock can come off the bench when called up.

This clinic has Pitchers back throwing in 10 weeks. Football should be even easier.

People are different and every recovery has its own set of issues I am sure, but the possibility of recovery before an entire season is lost is at least possible.

Bright spot is, it won't effect his pocket presence or decisions making both of which are miles ahead of the other 2 options.

Man so we are looking well into the season if he needs reconstruction and cautious recovery timetable. The QB situation again is a complete mess.

Or Trey Lance as QB1 and maybe another 7th rounder as a backup while Purdy heals.

6 months IF surgery is not required.

Just read a comment that someone made on Twitter that he needs the TJS for long term fix. This guy had the lesser surgey and it screwed his throwing ability from where it was

Yep. Kyle can't afford another year of qb unknowns. This could very well be it for him and the window.

Maybe. But Brock was great from snap one and you could actually see it. I haven't seen that swagger in a long time from a 49er QB. Apprehension and indecision, sure, but not in Brock.
I wonder who that is

Trolls are hall monitored like crazy in the Jimmy thread. Yet none of those hall monitors say a word when Trey (or literally any other player or coached) are trolled.

And most people that criticized Jimmy allowed him to play for years before coming to a conclusion on him…the people s**tting on Lance hated him from day 1 with little to go off of..they was no allowance to grow and develop. It had more to do with how people talked about Jimmy after the fact with those people. It was personal to the Jimmy truthers and not just about football.

Yup, already a messed up offsesson, so what else is new. Now we - I think - need a Defensivd coordinator. We could also lose some of our 1st year offensive coaches. geezloise!
