Unlike pitchers, most NFL QB's who suffer UCL injuries don't require reconstructive surgery due to differences in throwing mechanics/stress across the elbow. That being said, there are specific cases (complete rupture with significant elbow instability) were it may be indicated. https://t.co/M5nqDTBZfp

There are also newer surgical techniques (if this is the rare case of a UCL injury that requires surgery in a QB like Nick Mullens) where the the ligament can be repaired rather than reconstructed, which has a quicker return than Tommy John surgery.
