QB Brock Purdy Thread

He really made the end of the season fun. Hopefully we can build the line and help buy him time like hurts had.

No. At the absolute, rock bottom worst, he is the best backup in the league, on a cheap ass deal. I want to see what we can get out of Trey and hope Kyle can get as much out of him as he has Jimmy and Brock, but if not, I'm happy with what I saw from the kid's heart alone.

Trey Lance won't have anywhere close to the success that Purdy has had. Start Trey Lance and the 9ers will go back to being a bottom dweller team. Build around Brock and the 9ers are right back in the playoffs.

Both Brock AND Kyle said the play where Purdy got hurt was going to be a big play too. Was about to rip it to Aiyuk breaking open deep.



Purdy is accurate throwing deep too. f**k man. have to wait so long to see this dude play QB for us again.

If he really couldn't throw ball the fear would be a torn UCL. He'd be out entire year after surgery. As good as he played, when it came to the most critical game he got injured right away just like the rest of the our QBs. He's got the injury prone label now if you want to give to Jimmy and Trey.

If Shanahan is our coach, we will need at least 3 legit starting QBs next year. Trey should be healed and hopefully QB1. Maybe pay Jimmy to stay or sign Carr as third string (i hate him but better than JJ playing ever again), and keep Purdy (hopefully ready to go at some point next season as QB2). Might need to find a legit 4th string QB next year from college as well. I fully expect going forward with Shanahan that QB injuries will always plague this team. Shanny either runs them to the ground or lets opposing defenses have multiple free rushers on long developing plays to get them injured.

It still doesn't matter who you WANT to start. Coach has proven enough to me that I'll trust whoever he decides is best to run his offense.

Brock Purdy said he could not throw the football anything over 5 or 10 yards after his elbow injury. He's still feeling the pain. He said he has no idea if it's a significant injury. He will undergo an MRI tomorrow.
