I listened to an interview podcast with steven ruiz of the Ringer, this week,, and he basically admits that he just doesn't like Brock Purdy. He had some really weird takes, it seemed like he was just trying to get some attention with his takes. I wouldn't put much stock in The Ringer

I mean he was 9/19 and had a few passes bounce off the hands of defenders. It could have certainly been worse, but relative to how we've seen him perform before I'd say it was a bad half.

He balanced it out by being great in the second half.

He missed some throws, but it wasn't a good half at all, running game helped a lot at times. But in the end it doesn't matter, nobody is talking about his first half in the media really. He played great when it mattered and showed that he can definitely be a FQB

bad is what Lawrence did in the first half. Purdy just had a sloppy first half but still performed.

there are many more outcomes besides "Good" or "Bad".

This thread is crazy, people are expecting a rookie QB to be perfect. Out of the 3 playoff games so far and 6 QBs, Purdy by far played better than the other 5 QBs.

Bounce off the defenders hands? No, those were not too close to interceptions because not one defender had both hands on a ball at any point whatsoever. And if you're going to play that game which you always do, Aiyuk dropped one of the best touchdown passes of the year not to mention one of the best plays of the year. So yeah, nice try. Keep up the great work trying to minimize this quarterback that's playing like a top five quarterback right now.

I don't know why people think that if our defense doesn't shut out everyone or if our team doesn't score on every drive - that it's "bad".

literally every other defense gets scored on more than us. Our offense is scoring more than everyone else. That still isn't enough. Lol it's wild. A lot of People live in black and white on here - life's Grey, boys.

Exactly, people are pointing out to a hole or two in our defense meanwhile every other team in the league is much worse on defense. Not only that, we only punted it once yesterday sooooooo

Yeah I was watching Lawrence and Herbert and was like.. these guys suck compared to BP

particularly Herbert with his dumb sidearm arm angles getting balls batted all game

had a walk in TD if he comes over the top decided to sidearm into his OLs helmet instead

It's still what most draft pundents fall for as the basis of a a good passing arm...passing arm angles. It's what landed Z.Wilson as a #2 pick even though people knew about his lack of leadership.

No need to be needlessly antagonistic. He had a bad first half. That's not diminishing him, that's just reality. He played great in the second half and had a good game overall.
