QB Brock Purdy Thread

The majority of Niners fans could see the talent in Brock from that first game against the Dolphins. The unknown factor was what was going on between his ears and the size of the his heart. He has developed into what we are seeing now; someone who has taken the information given to him and used it in a manner where he is very successful. Not only that, those "experts" can keep calling him a "game manager". Cause all he manages to do is win

I love Drew Brees. I've always compared Brock and Drew. Its just that I think Brock is better than Drew.

Brock's game reminds me most of Drew Bree's, which is a great compliment. At this point, I can't say Brock is nearly as great as Drew was, but Brock's carving himself out - which is awesome.

my hope when Brock is fully in his prime, which I think he's just entering, that he's a mixture of Brees and Brady. Muhahahah he has a lot of traits the both of them had in their playing days.
What's crazy is that if Evans wasn't battling through a rib injury, him and Brock would have at least 2 more touchdowns. I believe there's been at least 2 plays where Evans went out at the 1 yard line (dolphins and Broncos) and I think he didn't fight it cause his ribs, which is smart.

just crazy to think how their stats could look if Evans wasn't hurt. But man Evans is a Tough SOB and a great fit for Brock.

Evans is the man, such a great signing. Also crazy to think that Brock has been a baller since his first game, and this is the first time he has had an elite receiver to throw to. I imagine that this connection will only strengthen and improve with each game they play together.

The sky is the limit with these two, It's exciting to watch this play out.

It feels like Brock's accuracy has improved this year. I think he's always been pretty accurate, but he seems even more consistent so far this season.

Was just about to post this. Another graphic showing what we're all watching. Purdy has been elite.

We're getting deep into elite at this point. He wins a sb and it's HOF all time business. Even if he doesn't. If he drops these numbers for a full career he prob still gets in

Watching that sehawks game, the passes to Evans were scary as they all were so pickable, yet Evans managed to get them. Just hope Purdy isn't forcing it to him. What a gift of a signing...both Purdy and Evans!

Brees had 5 seasons with over 5000 yards. 12 with over 4000. He had 123 regular season games with over 300 yards passing. He led them to a SB win. His receivewrs were Marques Colston, Michael Thomas and Jimmy Graham (TE). Good but certainly not great. Purdy has a ways to go before he matches those numbers. He has better talent than Brees had and a good coach so he'll have a great career but Brees with 80K yards and 20 years in the league may be out of reach.

The NFL experienced a passing explosion during the 2010s. Since then, 5,000-yard passing seasons have become substantially rarer, despite the NFL expanding from 16 to 17 regular-season games in 2021. I think one of the top factors for passing game decline is the evolution of defensive scheme.

Another factor is Brees wasn't that great in his first 5 seasons. He got better later in his career. Brock is only on year 5.

Heh, Purdy's won more games in Brock's first five years than Brees in his first five years.

I agree that Brock has those Brady traits. Just give Brock the same quality defense that Brady had, and who knows, maybe Brock can get more than one 🏆 win in his football career.

P.s. Drew played till he was 41 years old. I wonder how long can Brock play today. Drew had his arm torn off by John Lynch. Brock's injury wasn't that bad as Brees's.
Drew and Brock are different players.

Drew is make your read post snap and get the ball off on time... nobody better imo.

Brock can do this, but where he shines is his off schedule scrambling to find an open receiver or run the ball... Drew wasn't at Purdy's level with this type of play.

I also think Drew put of big passing yards because his teams had to, they didn't have a running game like Brock has.
