Cool, we just need him to win this every month and we should be good.

I hate the insane glaze he has got from the media lately.

Let's hope he shows that he can still be dominant against the top defenses. We saw him put up 13 TDs in just 3 games at the end of last year, but then just 3 points against the Seahawks. Being able to beat up on the worst defenses in the league is nice, but we probably won't face only bad defenses in the playoffs.

I wouldn't expect much. Without bosa and white being hurt also we literally don't have a defense. We already could not stop the run and now they won't be able to get any pressure on passes either.

I expect this to be a bad game for purdy just on him having to throw every down... He's also down to wr6-10.

There's only so much one team can take before the wheels come off.

I'll be happily surprised if purdy has an okay game and we somehow win.

I don't see that happening. Denver's run defense is ranked last in the league. They gave up 220 yards to the Chiefs, 116 to the Rams, and 94 to a below average Jaguar outfit.

Vance Joseph is a clever DO. I expect he will try to mask their run deficiencies by bringing up Safeties but Purdy will eat on that if it happens.
Denver LBs suck in coverage, hopefully we can expose that

Also, KS vs VJ Defense is like a 6-2 record

This games going to expose the 49ers as having one of the worst run defenses in the league. The issue is not so much that we can't run on them.

The issue is that they are going to run on us and play keep away from purdy.

This is going to force us to pass just because we won't have much time to score.

This coaching staff doesn't have enough faith that black and mcaffrey can score quickly so shanny will lean hard on purdy.

We aren't that bad. Currently ranked #15 against the run, right behind Baltimore and ahead of Buffalo.

Denver's best running back is JK Dobbins and he has one of the lowest ave. gain/run in the league. He backup is not much better.

Denver will test our DTs. Their center and one guard are very good at run blocking. LT also good but McGlinchey is having an off year. Other guard is meh.

I've always been amused by the irony that many of the posters who pick the most "true-blue" fan sounding usernames are often the ones who have the most pessimistic outlook on the team. I wonder why that is.

After watching the Broncos Rams game, Broncos didn't actually have any effective run game. Maybe because of all the injuries, Dobbins didn't look good in my opinion. Broncos won because of Stafford's interception and Bo Nix's having some luck with his completions

Whatever Tom, you said we should start Mac instead of Purdy not long ago. "Go with the hot hand", keeping Mac as QB1 even after Purdy was back and healthy from turf toe. Or does he not think people can remember this s**t? He just goes with which ever way the wind is blowing. Not everything is about you Tom, by the way.

I like Tom as a player, that's where it ends lol, these days, he is a bit of a doof.

Agreed have heard this one multiple places.

It's like a backhanded compliment and knock at the same time.

It's like they are saying he used to be playing below average and now he's playing average.

The reality is he's playing the position better than pretty much everyone. He's either the best, second best, or top three and that's the debate.

Dudes not going to get crowned until he wins an mvp and superbowl.

That is how it's always been with Brock, cautionary compliments. How about, he is just f**king good?

Why do you assume the Broncos of all teams will be the ones to expose that? They have a terrible run game. If anything it should be a get right game for the run defense.

The run D isn't even that bad we have not allowed an explosive run or rushing TD

we haven't even allowed a 100 yard rusher

in fact we're in top 10 in rush yards allowed per attempt

I'm a bit confused where this mediocre run defense narrative started

None of the 3 teams they faced so far have great rushing games. The 49er linerwas vulnerable all last year against the run and with all the injuries it hasn't improved. The Broncos biggest running threat may be Bo Nix.

Really too early to rely on statistics, but our rush defense and pass defense have been roughly the same in terms of EPA/p. Right in the middle of the pack (15-17th ish). We're 20th in opponent 3rd down percentage.

Definitely share the concern about teams playing keep away from the offense. Feels similar to 2023 so far with the defense (though I think ultimately the 2023 defense was probably more capable)… and we really haven't been challenged yet. Rams should eventually have a great offense, but they weren't that in week 1.

Broncos offense overall has had a rough start.

I have a sneaky suspicion that everyone saying that the "Broncos are gonna run all over us" or "we won't be able to stop the run" will change their tune and be back after the game saying "I knew the Broncos run game was bad" or the "Broncos suck against the run!" Then they'll proceed to say, "what I'm really worried about is the Seahawks! They're gonna kill us!"
