The Rams have one of the best defenses in the league, as well as he's seeing the field right now, Purdy is going to be a problem for every defense, especially if he keeps being smart about when to take off and run.

I'm really, really curious to see how Week 5 at Seattle goes.

I feel like absolutely anything could happen. I always have an awful feeling playing in that stadium. It could be the playoff game all over again, the Week 1 game last season again, or his best performance against Seattle and not a single one of these outcomes would shock me.

The Rams D in the opener isn't the one he'll see later in the year. A healthy Garrett and the addition of Donald will make a difference. Opening games are often not a good barometer for how good a team will be since they all prepare differently. Lot's of bad teams start out good and some good teams struggle the first 2 or 3 weeks and then they begin to start looking a little more like what they really are.

We faced both Garrett and Donald in their primes and the first game is when teams are the most healthiest

That first week is meaningless because those idiots thought they could fly in and show up and win. They were obviously affected by the jet lag.

If brock can still carve up denver and somehow win that game I will believe seattle will just beat us instead of stomping us the following week.

I could see us getting beat down hard both by denver and seattle though.

Brocks running out of playmakers. Black needs more handoffs and mcaffrey may need a few plays out of the slot.

The defense he's facing will step up huge this week and next.

I think the recipe for success is to use his legs more, run black up the middle more, check down more.

I think it's risky for him to just try to sling it. Force Denver and Seattle to stop the run first then setup the pass.

Meaningless? Are the Rams still jet lagged then?

Denver should be a tough game, but I have more faith in our top HC and top QB than a McVay/Pad Statford led offense

With Garrett out for who knows how long, Donald stepped in and had a grand total of 1 assisted tackle and 1 quarterback hit in his game against the Broncos. Puka has been sitting out with his mysterious hip and groin injury. Then there is the mighty Stafford (38-years-old) who just officially surpassed Brett Favre with 32 regular-season pick-sixes. I like where that franchise is headed.
The team is going to be tested against Denver and Seattle. If the team was healthy I wouldn't be worried but on D stopping the run and getting pressure is a problem. On O Purdy is going to have problems if Kittle is blocking more than running routes. And other than CMC, he has WR's that have a hard time getting separation. Kyle is going to have to be creative in his plays. They win these 2 games with all the injuries I'll be a very happy indeed. Go Niners

IF it was, that would of been in 2023 when he had that horrible Christmas game. He's matured since then. I do think he felt the need to impress and over compensate back then.

On that topic, I recall an interview with Brock and a following comment from Shanahan a couple of years ago:

Purdy was asked how he maintains his composure with all the talk about his late draft pick, his weak arm, his short stature, etc. He said he relies on his faith. He knows who he is in God, and that football is a platform he has been given to live out his faith. "My identity can't be in football. It can't be in things of this world. It has to be in Him," he said. As a result, none of the noise bothers him.

Shanahan was asked about Purdy's calm under pressure: "Purdy is pretty steady," ... "You don't see much different each day. He's a very faith-based person. I think that gives him his foundation as much as anyone I've been around. … He handles the pressure well and really doesn't change. I think that's why the guys love him and I think that's why he'll continue to get better."

Kyle has the whole off season to figure out how to attack this Seahawks defense. And we now have Evans. If Evans is close to 100% then I think the offense will be ok. Defense missing Boss will make it a very difficult game. I think a tough close loss at Seattle is an ok result. We just can't loss like we had no chance from the beginning (the two loss late last season against Seattle felt like we had no chance from the beginning).

Seattle's safeties were terrible against the Commanders. Their running game struggled too. Hopefully we will be healed up some before that game, but they clearly aren't playing as good as they were last year .
