Yes, there may be some maturity but more than that, he has just seen more now and very little surprises him. He has answers.

I knew there was something special about Purdy that first Miami game when he came off the bench and absolutely torched them vs the blitz, and it was confirmed the next 2 weeks when he broke his ribs the first play of the TB game, picked them apart, and then went into Seattle on a short week with broken ribs and did the same thing.

I have the graphic of it on my phone, but even in his rookie year, he was #1 or top 5 AT LEAST in every single QB metric or stat among all NFL QB's from the time he came in to the end of the season.

He's gotten more comfortable, more aggressive and more experienced, but he has been a Top 5 QB since he first stepped on the scene, and this isn't an "opinion", this is what the results, stats and metrics show.

I don't think that is a fair/accurate assessment.

Purdy is a very accurate passer, and reads defenses like no one else in the league. As a result, he can put balls into places that most other QBs not only wouldn't see, but wouldn't try because they are not that accurate. The windows may be too small for a lot of QBs but because Purdy see it early, and throws to spots, he completes passes that are high reward but for Purdy, it isn't that much of a risk.

I think you're both right. He is a gunslinger in many ways. His accuracy and anticipation are incredible and remind me of the old days tbh Walsh would gush over him. Then, he has that throw every so often where you think he's #10 lol, but I have been a fan since he first stepped in against Miami. He is a top QB imo. Give this man protection and let him cook.

I know I've been critical of Brock in the past, but man he's really been on another level these first 3 games. Ever since he came back from his injuries late last season, he's been playing at a high-level, but this year he's upped the ante. Can't wait to see where this season goes with him running the offense!

IMO, he's our best Niner QB since Steve Young. Glad to have him as our QB for years to come!

That's not even a question anymore. He make sup for any lack felite arm talent and size with his ability to process quickly and find the holes in the defense. You look at a guy like Herbert who is far more physically gifted and is also very intelligent but he doesn't see the field and process as quickly as Brock. The result is he takes way more sacks and throws into coverage more than Brock. This is one of the problems wiht drafting QBs. Ther eisn't a great way to know if QB is going to be able to process with the speed that's required in the NFL. College is way different and the interviews and tests they give at the combine don't really tell the whole story.

I know I'm biased...but as I watch other "great" QB's I can't help circling back to how good Purdy is. He's not perfect, but damn...he goes through his progressions like lightning, throws into tight windows, doesn't (usually) get his receivers killed, has enough arm to make the throws, is smart enough to take what the D gives him, and has the wheels to make some magic happen with it all goes to sh#t.

I grew up watching Joe Cool set the bar for what QB play should be. Loved me some Steve. Cheered for Garcia. Sympathized with Alex. Hoped for the best with Garapalo. ...but for the first time in 30+ years I feel confident every time we get the ball. I know not every drive will end in a TD and not every game is a win but I know we always have a chance with #13 in there.
