Agree💯%, and I'll just add to that by saying -- Give Purdy a Superbowl defense, and he's going to win multiple 🏆's in his career.

I know I would have a couple more stiff drinks when facing Bills vs Pats lol. As good as our D is, if if if, they stay healthy, it still would be terrifying to face Allen and the Bills

And why is it, when Purdy has good players around him, it's the supporting cast the reason Purdy is good. And when a QB like Allen has good players around him, it's all Allen? lol

Allen has put up big numbers with guys like Shakir, Gabe Davis and is making Josh Palmer look dangerous. He can put up numbers with anyone at this point. Like ANY QB, the better the skill players the better the results.

Reality is Allen will never get to show what he could do or couldn't do playing with Shanahan(at least we better hope not) so Brock is our guy and we should hope he's turning Kyle's offense with whomever we have out there into a great offense that helps us win lots of football games. So far he's done that.

Personally I'm going to appreciate what Josh Allen is doing but I won't worry about him until we have to play him. I'd love to see us play him this season.

For me it's wins and losses - because a QB affects the whole teams performance. So, just focusing on the post season - Brock's winning percentage in the post season is a bit better than Josh Allen's. That's the difference (for me) between Josh and Brock. As the good 49er fans here have said, both QB's are elite, but when it counts, it seems that Brock is better.

I can't go with the wins and losses because the QB can play great and the defense can end up losing the game. We've seen that happen a couple times haven't we. Football is too much of a team game to say give too much credit to the QB for the win. You need to look at more than wins and more than stats. It's one reqason Idon't like ranking QBs. Physical abilities are easy to see but there is just too much that goes into being a QB. Different teammates. Different coaches with different systems. Different opponents. When comparing stats with QBs from a different era it gets even harder.

All I know for sure is Purdy is more than capable of executng the offense that Kyle wants him to run. That is job one for any QB.

Chase Young frustrated me, he often seemed lazy af. Like he would rather be at the buffets in Vegas, with all you can drink specials than actually on the field at Allegiant .

The only thing that makes me nervous about Allen, is that he gets too emotional and reactive at times, whereas Purdy is just unshakable for the most part. Give me the guy with the mental balance Brock has shown.

Ya looking at just W and L is dumb. We experienced that here with Jimmy, a lot of the guys that liked him kept pointing at his W and L record, but a lot of us saw that he wasn't that good. Proof was after he left and started elsewhere.

Purdy is a very good QB, but he's not as good as Allen, which is fine.

That Bill's team doesn't have a very good defense though, so far. Playing Josh Allen would suck but if we are healthy, I think we come out on top.

also, the start of the year is always weird. we dont know who is technically "good or bad" yet cause not enough football has been played. I dont think the Lions will be a very good team this year.

Week 5 will be a great test for us, if we play well and win, then we can beat anyone if we stay healthy. I can't wait for Mykel to get back.

Well, I wouldn't just go and say anyone who believes that is dumb and Allen is better. That's a bit generic. Even with mentioning Jimmy G.

I wasn't much into Jimmy, he was good but didn't excite me and I didn't trust him going into the Superbowl.

I haven't been worried about the Lions at all since Dan shat himself in the NFCC against us. He is not threatening nor is his qb.

You can't say for sure that Brock isn't as good as Allen. He's not as physically skilled. That's obvious. Brock may be better in other areas. Once again it goes to what the HC is looking for. Even with his physical skills I can't say for sure that he would be a better fit for Kyle's offense. If he could handle the complexity he would be the greatest QB ever. Imagine Purdy's ability to process quickly combined with Allen's incredible physical tools.

Disagree. The QB affects the *entire* team. If the QB isn't converting 3rd downs - it gasses the defense (for example). If he is converting 3rd downs, it essentially rests the defense. That's just *one* example of how a QB can affect the entire team. It's indeed a team game, but which player touches the football the most and affects the team? The QB. If you, as a head coach, don't get your franchise level QB, you are fired. Example - Saleh, fired versus Demeco and Stroud, still employed as a HC. That's how important a franchise QB is to a HC and his offensive system and to the entire team. That's why desperate bottom feeding teams are always drafting QB's round 1, pick 1 most every time. Why? because that one player can change your entire team in one go.

Yeah, I saw that. That's why I don't think he's on the team anymore. The thing that makes Purdy special is his ability to process and throw accurately - especially under pressure. That reminds me of some of the legendary QB's in 49er history. It's one thing to throw accurately in the regular season against inferior competition, it's another to throw accurately against a top dominant defense with a great pass rush in a sudden death playoff or Superbowl situation.

Jared Goff is a good example of a QB that wins a lot and has good stats. He holds some records lke most consecutive games with 75% completion. However he doesn't rank high in most polls of top QBs. He just doesn't jump out when you watch him play.
