QB Brock Purdy Thread

I asked gemini how many picks has allen thrown this training camp = it said stats are not officially recorded.
patrick mahomes = stats are not officially recorded.
lamar jackson = stats are not officially recorded.
brock purdy = threw 2 picks today.

what in the bias is going on around here?

I'm sure it gets reported in the local news by the writers that cover those teams. Its just not an official stat that the league keeps.

I do find it interesting that critics will use last year's playoff loss or the Ravens game a few years back to explain their lower ranking of Purdy, while something like last year's playoff loss for Allen, for example, is never brought up for him. Or some will drop Purdy in their rankings due to missing games last year for injury, yet Burrow never gets the same dropping in ranking when he misses games for injury (basically the same one last year for both of them, even).

Just seems to me that 1st round picks don't get dropped in ranking for costing their team with turnovers in a playoff game, or by missing a ton of time for injury, but 7th rd picks sure do (and the playoff loss due to QB turnovers isn't even something Purdy has done).

Does it really make any difference whether Purdy is ranked 15th, 11th or 9th ? He's thesame QB no matter where someone has him ranked. Fans get way too rapped up in what how some writer feels about Purdy. All that matters is can he play well enough to win games and that answer is yes.

Concerning Purdy, I think you just need to watch the games against the Colts and the Bears last season and specially the one against the Bears. Purdy played like a franchise QB, no question about it in those games. He was a superstar in those games and there was no avengers b******t whatsoever. And against the Seahawks in the PO, I'm sorry but Purdy was one of the only players that came to actually play a PO game.
I think last season all things considerated was his best season. The only problem was the toe injury.

Don't lose sight of the fact that Purdy is 26 (27 in December) & is just entering his QB prime. We have another decade before we need to consider looking for an heir. For all those years we were looking for a franchise QB, this sure is refreshing! I have no doubt he gets us #6 in the decade time frame, maybe even #7. Last year I think we saw how comfortable he looks out there & he should only look more comfortable & confident as time passes. Look how long it took Stafford to look like the #1 QB in the league despite being drafted #1. He was always good, but these past few seasons you have seen him take that next step from good to great. Of course helps when you are throwing to Puka, Davante, Kupp & Megatron when he was on the Lions.

I don't see Purdy ever making that backwards throw fumble Allen did against the Broncos, wtf was that? Lol Allen has made several bonehead decisions under pressure but doesn't get called out much on them. Purdy is better under pressure than Allen imo.

I don't think Allen will ever win an SB, he is too emotional and can't handle the heat. Purdy keeps emotions in check, can definitely handle high pressure. If in a high pressure playoff game, give me Purdy all day over Allen. Stronger legs too, imo. I also don't think ppl appreciate Purdy's versatility. He will continue to get that criticism by nitpickers until he gets the Lombardi.

It doesn't matter. I just find it interesting. It's more a reflection of media and fandom than it is the actual QBs.

Well he does this in regular season that's the comparison I remember him throwing a up for grabs into double coverage on 2nd down with the season on the line that ultimately was an interception. His timing and accuracy are amazing but I have to question his decision making, he will sling it when he doesn't have too.

Our win against Seattle is another example Jake Tonges went up and got it but Purdy threw it right into coverage on 3rd down when we can tie. These are not isolated incidents it's a pattern with him.

I love Brock and hope to see a healthy year for him. Really like weapons this year. Would be great to see them all play through the year and see what he can do.

Purdy is a gunslinger and he's going to have games where he throws 5 or 6 interceptable balls. You have to live with that or go look for check down charlie. If you find a player who is a gunslinger while limiting turnovers you likely have a hall of fame type player
