I do know he has been to more superbowls than the gods Allen and Lamar.

Doesn't mean he is better. But it does mean something.

Allen with KS and the roster Purdy has had since coming into the league would be an absolute cheat code. Lamar wouldn't be as good as Purdy has been.

lol you act like Allen has had s**t rosters. James White has been on par with 2024-2025 CMC. Purdy has had s**t for WR's with Jennings as his best in the last two seasons. Allen has had a pretty decent TE, a lot better than Tonges. Let's not forget Purdy has been in a tougher division. Too bad Purdy doesn't play the Jets, Phins and Brady-less Patriots.

more often than not, Josh Allen has proven he possesses the choker's gene, not the clutch gene. not sure scheme can fix that.

I'm leaning on that side of the fence too

This won't be popular but if he wins a ring he's Steve Young territory.

If he doesn't he's Jeff Garcia or Jimmy Garoppolo

Nope. Young had 7 or so passing titles and two MVPs. But based off his first four years alone + winning a ring, he's definitely top 3 - 5.

Its really a helluva start and while some may think he took over a good team- he did, but the offense went to another level when he took over.

I'd already put him over Jimmy G.

I would like to see if that stands true with the 19-23 49ers roster and KS. I would be willing to bet it would be a different outcome for Josh. Plus how many QBs have that "gene" Mahomes? I can't think of anyone else that is currently playing.

Rosters change every year. Purdy has had some years with good healthy receivers and some with virtually none. He's usually had CMC and Kittle to throw to which isn't bad. Allen has had mostly average WRs. Buffalo's defense has often let this team down in the playoffs.

In any case I doubt. many teams would take Purdy over Allen. Allen is a unique player with size, speed and a powerful arm. He also runs really well. Purdy is fine and he can certainly win but Allen is a notch above nearly every QB as far as overall traits. He often asked to put the team on his back more than any other QB with the possible exception of Lamar Jackson. I'm not sure Allen would be a great fit with the Niners but it would be fun to see.

Purdy is much better between the ears than Josh Allen.

I don't view it as a competition between brock and josh allen, it's more a competition between brock and brock. he needs to play all the games, and put the ball all over the field, not just those lobs over the middle. brock proved it to me he can do it like in the chicago game which was 10/10 how about playing a full season and having that kind of consistency week to week

And you know this how? Or are you saying this because Brock is the 49ers QB?

That is because every front office and coaching staff is arrogant. They think they can coach anyone up and make them a star.

When you see a player like Allen, who has all the measurables that coaches gush over, they are going to want said player. Doesnt matter if the player has a history of choking and/or underperforming in big moments or not. If they like the measurables, they believe they could get the best out of the player. That is why almost every team would take Josh Allen over Brock Purdy.

Its not a hot take to say that. Hell, I would say that myself. But thats because the perceived ceiling for Josh Allen is higher than the perceived ceiling for Purdy. Would Allen get to the ceiling and be the best possible player he could be? No one knows. But the potential is exciting.

Allen has a history of choking? His playoff stas are much bette rthan Brock's. In 15 games he'spassed for 3915 yds, 29 TDs and only 6 INTs. His rating is 101.5.
In 8 games Purdy as 1745 yds, 8 TDs and 4 INTs. His rating is 89.1.

lol stats will definitely win you games in high pressure moments

want a more relevant stat? Purdy has twice as many comebacks as Allen in half as many playoff games.

Neither has a SB win. Allen played well enough as his stats would indicate. Much like Purdy his defense let him down. I'm okay with Purdy but I'd still prefer Allen. Brock has a highrr completion % and rating but that's largely due to the types of throws each player makes. He can make throws that Purdy can't. He's bigger and seems to be able to take the hits better. Only missed one game in his career since he became the starter. Purdy can scramble but Allen is more of a threat to run. He averages over 600 yards per year.

In the end it doesn't make much difference. The 49ers are keeping Purdy and Allen isn't likely to leave the Bills.
