2019 we did blow a 10 point 4th quarter lead....and it happened quickly as our HC/OC appeared to forget that we had the lead and let them back into the game without killing much of clock. I don't blame refs for losses and wins because at the end of the day, you and your team need to determine your own fate and how to overcome like the 95 team did blowing out SD. Example Macdonald and Seattle didn't wait for the refs to hand it to them they curb stomped us by 35 which could have been much worse if they didn't pull their starters early in the 4th Quarter.
Like I said earlier it's looking like Kyle needs a blowout victory because if a game gets close or if he's needing a come from behind he's just going to choke it away.
And that's a ridiculous take. You don't always have the luxury of being a juggernaut team facing a weak opponent in the SB. Chiefs have a HOF HC/DC and at least 3 HOF players including QB and one on defense. Expecting to blow them out is a ridiculous notion when your QB is Jimmy Garoppolo.
We went into that game on the strength of our pass rush. That's how the team was built and that's how we had all that success that season. We went into the SB playing one of the top passing offenses in the league with a down the field passing attack to frighten even the best defenses.
If the refs turn a blind eye to offensive holding out of the gate who does that hurt more? The team build off their passing offense or the team built off their pass rush?
As for the 2023 SB, sorry but to me you can't claim you had a double digit lead when your offense isn't on the field with that lead. The game was 10-0 and then KC made it 10-3 on their next possession. My goodness...what an insurmountable lead we had going into halftime 10-3 with KC getting the ball to start the 2nd half.
I'm not going to get into the details of us losing that game since this has all been covered before(it's why I don't bring up the refs in this game cuz we had way too many opportunities to close it out) but your post before is just another reminder how people make outlandish claims and then if unchecked people run with it.
We had a double digit lead in 2019 and the refs played a critical factor in us being unable to hold that lead. It's ok to call it out. When playing a tough opponent and your best asset as a team is taken from you it's tough to overcome especially if you don't have the greatest QB.
