QB Brock Purdy Thread

Colin Cowherd lost me today. He ranked all the QBs in the playoffs and had Brock at 10. He said the game changers were Allen, Herbert, Williams, Darnold?, Love, Maye, Lawrence. And then of course put Brock in the game manager section. The reason I am irritated is that he said any of the "game changers" can take off and run. That was it. That's why they're game changers. Thought that was a very disingenuous and lazy take. So Brady and Manning weren't game changers? He would place them in the managers column? I can't stand people that get paid millions just to talk about sports and have bad takes at that.

There is no world in which you can make an argument that Sam Darnold is a game changer.

Purdy had 50 more yards rushing than Darnold and he missed half the season.

Never seen a bigger homer for a QB in my life.

I dont think he's s**tting on Brock. I think their skillsets are roughly the same. Aside from the 4 or so plays a game Brock adds with his mobility.

He is also correct in that Mac is where he should've always been

And Brock being more consistently accurate and being better at taking the deeper throws.

Intended air yards per attempt
Brock 7.5
Mac 7.3

On target %
Brock 82.2
Mac 79.1

Roughly the same?

Do your eyeballs work? That's all you need to see that Brock is a better QB running this offense than Mac.

If you just saw each only play this season maybe.

My argument was their skillsets are roughly the same. The numbers point to them being roughly the same. What did I say that was wrong?

I've countless times that Purdy's best is better than Mac's best. That's not a dispute. Un my eyes neither should saying they have similar skillsets

This is the only season where we could compare apples to apples though correct?

Hopefully it will be. Need to maximize Mac trade value while we can.
Needs more guys who can get open or get behind the defense and he would feast more. Right now he's having to feed guys with dudes draped all over them every play.
So he just interviewed on Mike Florio PFT show, the guy who used to call him Brock Turdy. What a dumbass.

How's he going to be able to plant his feet and deliver a throw downfield if the O line cn't protect him. He doesn't have the arm strength to throw deep on the move. Not many QBs do. Maybe Allen, Mahomes and a couple of others. He can throw 20 yards downfield and then after that those throws hang in the air when he's moving. If he can move up in the pocket and set himself he can get an extra 10-15 yards.

Now do PPG. The offense looks different and feels different and produces in the red zone differently with Brock in. Mac has been excellent but Brock is a cut above

Yea we can flip Mac for a 2 and turnover some of this front office personnel and coaching for some 3rd round picks too. Let's stock up!
I think if he has sufficient time in the pocket we will have a chance. Don't forget Brock brings out the wheels in playoff do or die situations. I'm looking forward to seeing some Purdy magic this Sunday, win or lose.
