Same, those throwback unis plus Brock's scrambling/using the legs really brought me back to the 90s

good for Glock Purdy and Mac10 but I think this says a lot about Kyle's scheme too.
Brock Purdy is a lot better than Matthew Stafford, and it isn't particularly close pic.twitter.com/w6Bxvt71Of

Best thing about Dallas back then was their Oline. I mean they had a Wall protecting Aikman and Emmitt Smith.
There's a universe where the 49ers dont trade Charles Haley, at least not to Dallas. They sign Reggie White, dont use a 1st rounder on William Floyd, instead taking Isaac Bruce and they move up for Larry Allen and take Tony Richardson in the 7th, a guy who goes on to have a better and longer career than Floyd.
In that universe they have 6 or 7 Lombardis before the 90s are over.

As fans, we care most about what the guy does for us on the field, obviously, but it's really nice to have a guy you trust at QB and he's a great role model.
I care about what players do off the field-to an extent. I just dnt want them to be jerks and yeah, being good role models is good, for kids and such. BP is a baller but his character also makes him easy to cheer for.
I recall two years ago Shanahan was talking about how foundational Purdy's faith is to the person and player he is. He is just the same everyday regardless of the situation because of that foundation.

Look Purdy has been awesome since coming back but Stafford is a hell of a player. He has a dangerous arm and he's capable of elevating his game in the PO.

I have a ton of respect for Stafford. I don't put him in the same catagory as guys like Bree's/manning etc but he's one of the best ever. Incredible arm. SUPER tough. I think historically he has turned over the ball at horrible times. But he is a really good qb.
he wouldn't have an effin ring if it wasn't for tartt dropping a super easy NFCC clinching int that was dropped in his lap. But oh well. lol

For real. I like David's commentary and info he provides but I also think he overly relies on data. Data is important but you can't always tell the complete picture when using solely data. A lot goes into a players evaluation and there are so many variables in football that it's hard to break it down with only data.
according to Lombardi, tua would of been "elite" a couple years ago if you just used data points, which is a joke.
an example is the bears vs 49ers game, DL said it was an "all time great game", I'd disagree. It was one of the worst defensive performances I've ever seen in nfl history. There was a ton of god awful football in it. Great offense doesn't make it a "great game" IMO. It was an exciting game, but does that classify it as an all time great? Idk. Not to me. A great game is great defense vs great offense and they're slugging it out. Great offensive plays are stopped by great defense and great offensive plays are made while the defense has great coverage etc. that to me is an awesome game to watch
