Dude balled out last night! Nothing but praise from me

I've been screaming from the top of a mountain to start using your legs more. He can be Steve youngish with that extra tool in his tool belt. Man I wish we had a healthy defense this yr

Purdy is up there with Jeff Garcia as the best 49ers QB since Young retired. Better than Kap, Jimmy G, and Smith.

Agreed. Garcia doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Purdy, Garcia, Jimmy, Alex, then Kap
Agree with that order because its demonstrably true. Purdy is the absolute best since Steve Young.

Garcia may not have reached an NFC Title game and by extension a Super Bowl, but he was way better than anyone else between Young and Purdy.

I wouldn't put Jimmy over Alex. Beyond that, yeah I can't argue too much.

Hell yeah. But I agree, the defensive situation sucks cause of injuries but im holding out hope they can get it together in the playoffs and do enough. Especially since I believe Fred will come back as early as the divisional (most likely NFCC). We just need them to hold teams to 24 or less to give us the best chance. I'll believe we can do it until the last second that it's over.

on the flip side, this off season will be fun man. A lot of young talent to watch. Guys coming back. Exciting times. Just need the football gods to let the ball bounce our way.

I think Alex got a raw deal with poor coaching. Other than that I would agree with that order. Cap was the most athletic and was fun to watch for awhile but he just couldn't control that power arm of his.

Brock is more like Montana than Young. Both are similar in size and neither has a great arm or throws that tight spiral. Brock can scramble but he doesn't have Young's speed. Montana could scramble when he was young before he got beat up. Young was a much bigger threat to take off and run. Defneses always had to be aware of it. Part of Brock's effectiveness as a runner is because teams aren't usually concerned about him pulling the ball down and taking off.
I'm glad Purdy does the head first slide when he takes off and runs. It seems like the feet first slide puts your body in more danger of getting injured. Yes you might get a flag, but you are free to get nailed.

This is the Brock montana we all knew he could be. He's playing confident, fearless, and aggressive.

all that without kittle and Trent. I hope Trent, green, and Kittle are good for next week. So pisses it's on Saturday night - back 2 back short weeks for us. We need to beat Seattle so bad to get that bye.

I can't believe it's Ravens Steelers over our game for SNF. Two short weeks in a row.

It must be all the media infatuation over A. R.

I hate what the NFL did here. The Steelers are going to get beat by the Ravens, plain and simple, and I don't think it will be a close game at all. But the powers that be decided that this is the marquee matchup that has to be the last primetime game of the year. So freaking stupid!

I mean Brock is shorter than both, but is a little thicker in the lower half like Steve. He moves more like Steve did, he's more athletic than Joe was imo.

Young is for sure the best runner of the bunch, I do think people underestimate Brock's twitch and running ability though. He can get those free yards and at some point teams will have to acknowledge it.

I think it had more to do with the broadcasts and who gets which games.

Yes it is contractual.
The opening pick six was awful (deflections and DPI and all he still shouldn't have thrown it there) but in a way it almost kind of elevated the narrative of his performance. Open the game right away in a 0-7 hole despite starting with the ball, yet didn't blink.

Obviously for the sake of our sanity I hope we don't open any playoff games like that but it's good to know he can still bounce back if something like that happens.
Matt Ryan talking about Kyle's play and why he does what he does. It isn't super in depth but I found it interesting

The pick six to open the game was horrendous. And yes maybe there's DPI I don't know but still it was bad execution from Purdy and Jennings and quite frankly not the most inspired playcall by Kyle.
But that's also why this performance by Purdy and the rest of the team is so fantastic. I mean Purdy could have lost his confidence and it could have been a long night for the Niners and it's like the pick six has never happened. He played exactly like he does every week. And more than that, he elevated the rest of the offense without Trent and George. That was a special performance by Purdy.
Played damn near a perfect game after the pick 6. And I'm not sure that was even on him. Jennings round that off like he put an X on the spot for the defender.

Joe was very athletic and mobile when he was young. He used to tuck the ball and take off and run quite a bit. He was agood athlete that played basketball in hgh school Once his knees got beat up and his back wa sinjured it all changed. Many fans only remember the older beat up Joe. His career rusj=hing avewrage was 3.7 yards per carry. Brock's is 3.8. In 1983 Joe had 61 carries for 284 yards. His speed has more like Brock's. . Joe and Brock both were/are effective in short areas.

Brock is only an inch shorter than Steve and Joe but he's heavier than both. Everyone is heavier these days including the fans.
