lol what game did you watch? Purdy was f**king clutch when it mattered on 3rd downs. he was 9 for 11 for 88 yards. 8 were for 1st down, the other for a TD. he also had a rushing TD on 3rd down.

it boggles my mind what some of the fans on this forum see when they watch the NFL. blinded by fantasy football stats.

Also pretty impressive for a guy who many on here constantly criticize his lack of arm strength, he was whipping that ball through swirling winds

I dont understand how anyone can criticize purdy after yesterdays game. That was his best game of the year. What expectations do you have in that kind of environment against that kind of defense? Were people expecting 350 yards and 4tds? All he needed to.do was manage and make clutch throws which he did.

Some people will never be happy. I would like to see his completion % improve, but that Cleveland D is very good.
I'm all for game manager Brock. Nothing flashy but he made the right reads and didn't turn the ball over. Especially in the weather.
No complaints about how Brock played but when people say he had a fantasrtic game like some do then it sounds a liitle silly. He played a good game in bad weather (cold and windy). He executed the game plan well which is what we all want to see every week. There's no reason to exaggerate and say he was great. Even the best QBs aren't great every time the team wins. Let's be honest. The Niners have won 3 straight since Brock returned but all 3 games were against weak teams. Two of those wins were largely because the defense has been playing well.

Brock is the best QB we've had in several years. I'm fine with him as long as he plays smart and doesn't try to do too much. That's when he has his best games.
Lol doubters are pretty quiet . But they will be back nagging about arm strength, zip, how the Ravens broke him, how we need to have a "real conversation about Brock", that we needed to keep, "I see dead ppl" Sam, we shouldn't have paid him, need to keep it real..meaning, he is Jimmy G part two, doesn't elevate the team, should have stayed single..wears Ariat boots, would take Stroud and Love over this guy (I have never seen either of them do what Purdy does, ever)...

Playoffs here we come

Much of the talk I hear on the radio is about how Brock didn't throw an INT. That's something we never talked about with Joe or Steve. They threw their share of INTs but nobdy worried about it because we all knew they would make up for it with some big plays eventually.

Why does it seem like some fans are almost uncomfortable when this guy does well? Lol

Brock did what was expected from him, but let's not downplay that awesome field position from Cleveland blunders set him up for that success.

overall happy he followed the game plan and didn't force any throws.

Agreed 💯

It was a good performance from Brock for the most part.

Not sure who the real doubters are? I think it's objectively fine to criticize a player when they have a horrible game and also say he played well when he does.

Not sure why people have to go extreme on either end? You don't have to blindly say he's great, blame everything else around him or not acknowledge some of his negatives. You also should be able to talk about what he does well and praise him when he does his job. Like most things, the truth is always somewhere in the middle.
Purdy is a great choice to run Shanahan's offense. Shanahan's offense is built around key players making plays within the system and excelling at that. Purdy is one of those players and I think he is a great fit for the Niners at this time. When he plays within the system he does well. When given key components around him that play within the system and make plays, he excels as do they. His and this team's real test is coming . . . Colts, Bears and Seahawks. Let's see how we hold up against those three teams and how Purdy and the TEAM perform. I do feel the Niners OL has to be strengthened in the off season to allow Purdy or whoever is there to excel. We have to remember this is a team game and yes, a lot is put on the QB but there is so much more to winning than just the QB.

If Purdy and company go 2 out of 3 in those games, I think we can safely say they have a chance in the playoffs. If they go 1-2 or 0-3 we know this team just isn't there with all the injuries and probably needing a couple of key players still. Isn't it great that despite all these injuries to Purdy and everyone that the team is in this position at least to be competitive? The schedule has helped but right now in the NFL, I think most teams can win on any given Sunday ... most, not all. Let's just take this one game at a time.

I say good . You say great. Your idea of greatness is much lower than mine. Maybe it's because I saw real greatness in the 80s while attending evewry game.

That's fine. I disagree with "best QB in several years" though. Nobody in the last 20 years has been as good for us as Purdy so "several years" is underselling him IMO.
