Buddy this regime started off in a dream scenario for any new coach/gm; they had the #2 overall pick and needed a QB. THEY completely f**ked that up. Knowing them; if they were to take a QB it probably would've been Trubisky instead of Watson or Mahomes so I guess it doesn't matter anyways

Andy's over there getting layups for his offense and Kyle's like "man, if you guys were perfect all my plays would work!"

This has been the criticism on Kyle since day 1. It's not too say he can't but the seldomly does, especially in pressure moments.

Mahomes without Kyle = 3 SB wins already.

Kyle would probably butcher his career with all the gimmick shifts and following the playbook to a T.

Dream scenario? Quick find me all the mock drafts heading into that draft that claimed Mahomes should've been a top 3 pick.

The reality is we never got to see Kyle's actual vision which was clearly use the draft to improve a histrionically bad defense(what a dream scenario…) and bring in Kirk Cousins to run his offense for no draft compensation.

That draft was Myles Garrett and then a huge drop off to the next guy and Mahomes wasn't in those conversations. KC took him at 10 and got a ton of crap for it…but here you are pretending that was an obvious pick to make.

There are drafts where you have clear top of the draft QB prospects. 2017 wasn't that type of draft.

Once again where were those layups when their offense wasn't doing anything with Greenlaw on the field?

And those so called layups are only layups because of Mahomes and they're still dependent on the defensive look…but god forbid we call out Wilks for making it easy for him in OT. Nope it's all Kyle.

Wilks playing extra cushioned prevent defense in OT traumatized me. He didn't play to win the game.

You mean Deshaun Watson the rapist? Yeah, that would have been a great pick. And, in case you missed it, Mahomes wasn't on anyone's radar as a top ten pick except Any Reid, so credit to him for seeing what everyone else missed. But don't sit here eight years later and pretend that picking Mahomes was some kind of no brainer call.

You have reading comprehension issues? When a new coach and gm comes to takeover a new team, a team in need of a QB; it is a dream scenario (draft wise) to have a top pick. They had their pick of the litter; but decided to wait until the 3rd round to trade up for CJ Beathard.

Yea I know the plan was Cousins; but that was for the following season in free agency. 9/10 times a new coach and gm coming to a new team without a QB would want (and should want) to start THAT season drafting a young rookie when you have a top 2 pick; not select a tweener DT, but I digress and we all know how that worked out. We didn't even get Cousins lol. If the rookie didn't work (whoever they took) it still doesn't stop the plan of getting Cousins in free agency with a young rookie to groom

You did it but id they did that at the time, major flack. Props to you for showing and proving that you did want Mahommes at 2. I was a Watson guy. Oh well. Here we are. Hopefully we can win the elusive #6 soon.

I don't understand, are you mad that they didn't draft Trubisky or Watson? Or are you mad they didn't know Mahomes would work out as well as he did? Weren't they really the only top QBs that draft?

You think it's realistic they give up on a high 1st round rookie QB after one season? Doesn't seem realistic, at all. It rarely happens. Adding a top dollar free agent contract on top of a high 1st round contract at the position isn't great either.

At the time, I wasn't a fan of the idea of bringing in Cousins in any case.

You start of with a hindsight comment and then criticize me of hindsight about Mahomes

I mean who knows if Watson would've done the same s**t with us as he did in Houston? And yes Mahomes was on others radars besides Andy Reid.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/story/_/id/26561055/drafting-patrick-mahomes-how-chiefs-outmaneuvered-nfl

And speak for yourself buddy; I did want him, along with a few others on this board. That was the most college tape I watched of a QB because as I've said; we had a new coach, a new gm, and a top 2 pick.

And as a bonus for you since you trying to puff your chest at me; in case you missed it, John Lynch wanted Kyle to take a look at him after being impressed with his pro day. Kyle was too blinded with Cousins and shut it down, it's well documented but I guess a lot of you like to pretend that didn't happen.
