QB Brock Purdy Thread

It's amazing when Kyle can get the run game going and that's usually when his QBs have good years. It's poetry in motion when everything is rolling, but there's a reason many former players and his own former QBs are not fans of his passing offense

this is what Ryan said about Kyle this past July…

"I loved playing for Kyle," Ryan told Maiocco. "He is demanding but that's what you want. You want somebody who's going to push you to be the best version of what you're capable of and I always felt like Kyle did that for me in the two years that we were together."

"[He] pushed me a little bit out of my comfort zone in certain spots because he believed in me in certain ways and I think that helped me grow as a player," Ryan told Maiocco. "But, I think you want your head coach demanding and you want, you know, your coaches, position coaches, coordinators demanding the best of those guys and their track record speaks for itself. They've had a lot of success."

Trying to find scapegoats for Brock's play is pretty sad…we all know Brock can play better than he has over the past 20 games. We should all expect more given what he's making and what we need.

It's completely irrelevant. Everyone understands that even great QB's can have bad games.

Brock Purdy isn't Joe Montana. The idea that you think he would be subjected to the same criticism as a clearly inferior player is your lack of objectivity on full display.

Lol thank you for pointing out Brock isn't Joe, I was really thinking he was LOL. There is no doubt in my mind some ppl would throw social media vomit out about Montana after not so great games. I never said it would be the same criticism and thanks for the assumption, I said there would be some. Because Brock at his very best, was subject to high criticism. When there was nothing really there to criticize.

By the way, Jerry Rice has said, "Brock is like a Joe Montana." I got it recorded on my phone lol. Brock was playing at that high level for a bit..has made some mistakes but doesn't mean he can't come back to it. Ppl on here think we are screwed and need to get rid of the guy lol.

Montana never had turf toe..cause there wasn't this s**t ass fake turf then. But just think if he did in today's age..s**t would hit the fan. No, not saying it would be the exact same criticism as Brock lol like maybe I need to repeat that, but there would be some.

What kind of offense would you like to see Purdy in?

Lol right?

One with a passing game that can stand on its own. One that QBs like. That would be a start

One in which he has a healthy toe.

Lmao he's not going to talk s**t about Kyle in an interview with the one of the teams mouthpieces. He's tried to backtrack his comments from after the SB ever said he said it but it's too late now. We know what he thinks

And which one is that? Half the damn league runs a shanahan scheme.

It's wild….apparently Kyle's scheme was "good enough" in 2023 but now it's not lol.

yeah apparently Manning doesn't know anything about passing schemes and running and offense yet said he'd love to play for Kyle.

Absolutely every single QB has people talk s**t about them across mainstream and social media. Some of you guys group up warranted criticism with nutty takes that every single one of these guys deal with as a means of deflecting what might be uncomfortable conversation.

The passing game has stood on its own all season with 8 starts by a bargain free agent signing at QB. We have had one of the worst run games in football. We lead the league in passing under Mac f**king Jones, lol.

Do you actually have an answer here?

Mac Jones isn't bad. He already went to the pro bowl without Kyle. Hes started out hot just like all the other QBs. We will see if he can keep this up but nobody else does in this offense and that's across the league

He went to the Pro Bowl after the qbs all backed out. Same way Trubisky did.

Lol I am not deflecting/grouping for a need of comfort lol thanks again for the assumption

There is just this overreaction pretty much every time Purdy makes a mistake or has a crummy game. I don't see how several of the posts in here are even a conversation..it's mostly "Jimmy G part two, I would take Love and Stroud over this guy.. "(no way I would lol). Love can go kick rocks tomorrow

We actually probably won't see if he can keep this up. Not with us anyways.

100%.

Just like when people say Purdy cant play without the stars healthy but then give Mahommes a pass for all of the losses without his stars.

(not comparing the too obviously as mahomes has won the big one}

I agree he isn't bad. He's an average player and a good system fit because of his skillset. I wanted the team to draft him in 21… thought he was the only player of the three available to us that made any sense.

The bolded is blatantly false, lol. We have an easy example in our own division.
