QB Brock Purdy Thread

I hope Jones plays well for numerous reasons, not the least of which is that will allow Purdy time to heal.

Damn

I've been saying they should shut him down for the season or at least until the bye. People act like it's crazy, but he's just going to keep reaggravating this injury until he takes the time to let it properly heal.

I think people who keep minimizing Brock's decline are not being honest with themselves. So many stats to rationalize what is plain to see. Why can't folks just accept what is.. We know he is not elite. We also know he is very good. We also know he is injured.. again and he is pressing to make plays because half his offense is injured. The mental gymnastics are getting redundant and silly.

People are too hung up on the contract. The expectations are unrealistic IMO. Last year it was "well he needs to be better if he wants a deal" now it's "he's paid so he has no excuses"

Holy! He is proffesional football player in the NFL How about you give him some more shelter.

There isnt a single person in this thread that disagrees with this. Not sure where you are seeing mental gymnastics.

Do you even know what you're arguing these days?

You thought the injury lasts more than a couple of weeks but you think people mentioning Brock playing off cuz of the injury are sheltering him?

Opening drive ain't happening with Brock!
What disappoints me about 49er fans is how much they are SALIVATING about Brock struggling a bit. It's like it's super exciting and pleasurable to see him not be the guy. They can't just be satisfied that a young QB has had a great run followed by a little inconsistency. No, they have to kick him to the curb at the first sign of difficulty.

You call 20 crappy games a little inconsistency?

Let Brock sit for the rest of the season to heal up, and maybe longer. Mac's got this!

I think this is the problem with fan forums. No one here hates Brock or want him kicked to the curb. What happens is people start debates and the talks tend to stray from the main points and it becomes "hate". When that's not always the argument. Just always seems to go that direction

It wasn't 20 crappy games. The offense played fairly well in most games last year. It was the defense & ST that struggled more.

The offense had issues in the redzone and running, and Purdy had some bad games. But it wasn't a train wreck where he threw 25 INTs or something. In 15 games he threw for 3864 yards 20 TDs and 12 INTs with a 96.1 rating.

Mediocre! Not exactly 265M stats.
Said all along it was a mistake to pay him. I bet we never see a full season out of him and he just fades away after a year or two. He got his bag
