Wait til we actually play a good offense.
Well FWIW the Rams are -3.5 right now. We gonna get smashed in LA.
I fear what Stafford Is gonna do to our defense
Lawrence only, and I say only, put up 26 with 4 turnovers and a punt return TD he didn't even have to do anything for. If we play that way against the Rams especially with that....pass rush...that was out there, Stafford will eat our butts for supper. 4 course meal including a dessert wine.
So we held a generational talent at QB to essentially only 19 points, but people are worried about old man Stafford?
Hopefully Brock's toe is a little better on Thursday. It probably won't be fully healed until after the season.
SStafford is better than Lawrence and the Rams a a better coached team than the Jaguars

I'm not being sarcastic this is an honest question. Are we giving him an excuse for any bad play in the future due to the sore toe?
I think the toe will need to be taken into account when evaluating him for the rest of the season.

There's a subtlety to Ring's game. It should be appreciated IMO.

Ok fair assumption.

When you need a TD to win the game, I expect a turnover every time now.

Naw. He will be judged on his play and that is it.

Yes and that's a bad place to be.

Exactly. The end goal will require a game changer. He will have to carry us and today he failed. Regroup.

Let's put it like this for me I am put back by the play of this entire offense play calling Quarterback play WR play etc it's been terrible. Special teams included. The defense is the only bright spot I see several rookies playing on defense better than most veterans on offense.

I think there is more nuance to evaluating the QB position than that. He's dealing with more injuries and his only healthy receivers are guys like Bourne, Skyy Moore, and Jake Tonges. Is he really being put in a situation to succeed?

I will say, his turnovers are too consistent for them to be a one-off thing. The constant looking for the best play in non-vital situations is annoying when it ends up in a huge mistake.
The margins are slimmer this year and last year and when it comes to that, I hate to say it...but he always has propensity for turnovers. I actually hoped that this game having a ton of checkdowns would at least make him mistake-free...because Jags force turnovers. And yet in a game where we barely went downfield for a big play we had 3 turnovers just off Brock. I mean yikes. Yes he appeared to still be injured and had bad footwork and was sailing passes left and right, all high...but still this is an issue that has been ongoing.
Still think hes a good qb, but his decision making and turnovers will be his downfall if he has one.

I like Brock, liked him dating back to college. I'm probably gonna get a lot of flack for what I'm about to say but the way I felt about Moody when the game was on the line, is the same feeling I have any time Purdy is forced to come from behind. Fantastic QB when the offense is firing on all cylinders and has all his weapons. But with the exception of the Green Bay and Detroit playoff games, he just doesn't seem to be clutch and if anything becomes almost reckless (bad int's, fumbles, forces passes that aren't there instead of taking what the defense is giving him). That said the Detroit and GB games give me hope he can do it, particularly when the lights are brightest.

Brock is going to have to step up his play no matter who you are throwing too. The entire Jags defense knew he was looking for CMC all game long. Got to spread the ball around more so we can open up more of the offense. Jags looked like there were run blitzing on the way to the QB today all game
Of course the were looking for CMC. With Pearsall on a bum knee, CMC was the only legit pro receiver out there, unless you think Skyy Moore is a threat...or Bourne...Tonges is nice but not Kittle. There was just no one open most of the time. The Jags did a good job of throwing off the timing of routes.
We've been talking for two months about the lack of quality in the WR room, and it was glaringly apparent today.
That lack of WR has nothing to do with ball placement. This isn't the 1st time Brock had a bunch of high throws.
High throws is not a consistent problem, especially layering a ball in over the LBs. He has been very good at that. Now, when you have a bunch of guys who are not used to the precision and depth of those routes, it can cause problem.
I'm not going to make excuses, just point out factors that lead to high those.
One thing is that with a sore left toe, if it causes you to not plant that foot and come down hard on it, you are going to throw high. If the truth were known, I would be surprised if that toe was bothering him. Remember, the original call was to miss 4-5 games.
Then he should sit and recover because he is hurting the team playing.
Even injured, he's still probably a better option than an injured Mac Jones or Adrian Martinez.
Injured, No , he is not better than jones. Not even close.
When both healthy...
Jones >>> second coming of Jimmy G (BP)
I'm not even a fan of M Jones

He isn't making plays or throw to succeed. No excuses, he got paid, needs to produce or the fan base will turn on him. He isn't making the minimum taking the league by surprise anymore with a loaded roster.
